adbort
Does anyone know the reason why SOB was closed all day today. While exiting Top Gun I only seen one SOB train which was on the ready breaks. The station was empty. My only guess could be the other train got hung or valleyed during the ride. Anyone know what happend?
teenageninja
Maybe they are working on one of the trains and the track, I doubt it valleyed.
AZ Kinda Guy
SOB did not valley on August 4th.
BoObKiNoS
I dont think SOB has EVER valleyed. Them trains run so dang fast whether there is people on them or not, i dont think it is possible. Even in the morning when they arent that warm, heck, I bet if the mid course brakes stopped you there they would still be plenty fast enough Love, Me
AZ Kinda Guy
Ya know Boobkinos, I don't ever recall SOB valleying either but make that drop right after the lift any steeper, than we've got some problems.
mars1825
Actually, the train did get stuck in the bottom of the rose bowl one time awhile ago. Edited January 1, 1970 by mars1825

mars1825
You guys can think what you want but it's the truth. I'll try to see if I can find a picture. I remember seeing it awhile ago but I forget where it is. Here we go, I found it. Click Here. Edited January 1, 1970 by mars1825

RiSK
Guess that clears everyones questions up... SOB indeed, did valley. That would be a strange situation.. wonder what happened?
Beastfreak
**The pictures of the train stuck in the rose bowl are not the reason the ride was closed on Aug 4th.** **Those were taken in 2000 around the time the ride was still having its "problems" opening. What was the cause of it being closed all day... I don't know. However, I did hear someone say it got stuck. Where? Doing what? I don't know... or if its even true. mars1825
SOB did not valley on the 4th. I said that it happened awhile ago.
Beastfreak
I was just clarifying because it seemed like maybe people would start thinking from reading only a few things that it did valley on the 4th.
teenageninja
I believe that that valley happened on one of the first test runs, I remember seeing on the news that it did get stuck on one of it's first test runs.
mars1825
Yes, it was during a test run.
Beastfreak
Canceled the original media preview. I had to set all that crap up... then take it right back down.
Losing Streak
That's a while after it opened, at least a month, for a couple reasons: 1) The front and rear cars of the trains have the yellow paint on them; at the very beginning, the trains were all red. 2) The cranes (one by lifthill, one in rosebowl) were left up for a while after the ride opened, and in the picture, they are gone. BoObKiNoS
NAW dudes, listen to this stuff!!! SOB was open today with one train only....AND i heard a rumor from this guy who knows someone who works in potato works who heard it from a guy that sells lemon chills (haha yea i know thats a lot of people) that they're finally going to put the third train on it!! wont that be awesome. Kinda seems reasonable too, i mean it was designed to run with 3. -Still refusing to believe that SOB valleyed
DegenRider
I am sure it was just normal work being done. Ya know getting it ready for friday. Edited January 1, 1970 by sobrider
Xtremejulia
yeah i just kept telling people it was closed for repairs ( so said a supervisor)...and it was odd because there were maybe eight people who it seemed had driven from supposedly across the country to ride SOB. they got pretty ticked at me...which is pretty ridiculous seeing as how im games. not rides. and then they told me they should get a refund of the money they paid to get in. i just kind of smiled and nodded. it sucked for them though. theultimatefan
When i was at PKI on the 6th, this girl that works that ride said they were doin an (overhaul, maybe this is what they said but i dont really rember exactly what she said) on the track. OR it might of been just were wrkn on the track, and i asked her why they were only runing one train and she said because they decided to only put one train on. ZERO-123
This is kind of off-topic,but I rode Son of Beast yesterday and got a bloody nose from it.During the first helix,my head went down a little and we hit a bump, and my nose slammed into the restraint. It didn't really hurt, but it bled a good bit.
