McSalsa
The Scenario: You have a Time Machine! WHOO HOO!!! Well, sort of. The problem with this time machine is, it can only go to Kings Island, but it can go back to any date, ever, that Kings Island was open. But it can also only go ONCE and when you're done it explodes, so you have to choose wisely...what day do you want to go? Opening Day 1972? (KI Opening Day) 1979? (Beast's "rookie" year) 1981? (To ride The Bat?) 1992? (Last season pre-Paramount?) 1993? (Paramount's first year) 2000? (Son of Beast's debut?) 2005? (Last full season for Paramount) 2006? (To get injured on SOB wait WTF!?!?) 2009? (To relive Diamondback's debut?) PS: What you do will have no effect on the world when you return, so you can do whatever you wish. But you cannot bring back anything you didn't originally take with you. Sorry, you can't sell that 1979 Beast T-Shirt for $100+ on Ebay! Enjoy the poll. McSalsa's choice: It was a toughie, but if I were to use this time machine, I would go to 1981. Why? To ride The Bat, because KI was still quite young, and Beast was running at full force that year. But any trip to KI would be nice... Double PS: You can choose ANY year from 1972-2009, not just the ones listed above.
The Interpreter
That which works one way should work the other. Those who never got to experience opening day, etc., can with this thing. I would kindly ask said machine to take me to the year 2525, and hope that mankind has survived, and that I end up in a theme park, not the middle of a desert, or worse. I'm funny like that. Terpy, who was born breaking rules, and hasn't stopped yet (but knows when to hold them, and knows when to fold them, or so he hopes)

Terpy, who was born breaking rules, and hasn't stopped yet (but knows when to hold them, and knows when to fold them, or so he hopes) Thankfully, you find that Kings Island, now over 600 years old, is now a whopping ultra-park with hundreds of roller coasters, some over 1000 feet tall! And some of the 2009 ones, by some miracle, are still there. (Beast, Racer, Diamondback, Flight of Fear, etc). And the Eiffel Tower has been replaced by a REAL Eiffel Tower (987 feet tall). Beast1979
I'd visit every year. Every single year. I want to be there opening day. I want to ride Lion Country Safari. I want to ride The Beast when it first opened. I want to ride King Cobra. That would be awesome.
The Interpreter
Don't miss Racer. I think you'd be surprised how much airtime it had back in the day, before the many, many changes over the years. Also, eat and see some shows. Methinks you'd be shocked. Beast1979
Will do. I'll make sure to snap some shots of the rarely documented Barverian Beetle! (The ride, not the guy)
KIfan1980
It would have to be the early 80's. Only real question for me is what ride that I can't ride today would I want to ride again - The Bat or King Cobra. Of course, there are many many rides from that time that I'd enjoy riding whichever year in the early 80's I chose: - Backward Racer - Flying Eagles - Flying Carpet - Screamin Demon - Animal Safari Monrail - Antique Cars - Bayurn Kerve - and several more that I'm missing the names of right now. Coney Islander
I would go back to opening day 1981, two years before Coney Mall's classic Coney rides started getting removed, and the first year of The Bat. Why not 1982? I'd get to ride Gulliver's Rub a Dub! (From the one picture I have seen, it looks like a fantastic ride.)
rotag
My only question is that the time machine be a delorean or phone booth. Then I might take you up on that offer.
Beast79
My choice would be opening day 1972 that way I could see ki brand spanking new!

The Interpreter
Best be more specific. After the first day of operation, on the second day, it ran about 10 trains of people, then shut down for weeks. Terpy, just sayin'
shark6495
Well I would do a bunch of research and find a date The Bat was running, then go on that day, it was a ride I always wanted but never got to. And stop reading now if you dont like the idea of time travel theories. If you go back in time you will be changing the whole world. No such thing as going back to just enjoy the atmosphere. If you ride a ride, you are forcing someone else to ride at a later time, then that persons life may never get back to what they should have been, or you could force someone to meet someone else and then bam you are no longer alive.... time travel= back to the future when marty starts to disappear.... The Interpreter
...or you could contract some horrible disease that today could be treated and back then could not...or take it back with you and kill the whole human race, I suppose... How...uh...nice?

How...uh...nice? that reminds me of an old b/w twilight zone episode, where the guy is in the middle of the desert. he goes over the hill and gets pennacillian for his boy who creates it later in life.
