The Interpreter
If one company gets its way, Myrtle Beach may soon see gondolas or chair lifts drifting above the new boardwalk along Ocean Boulevard.Doppelmayr CTEC approached the Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation with the idea of installing an aerial tram to follow the outline of the boardwalk. "The boardwalk has generated national interest by several companies that want to look at the possibilities of providing unique, special attractions," said David Rebok, the executive director of the Redevelopment Corporation.... http://www.carolinal....aspx?id=428176
RailRider
Will be making the trip to Myrtle Beach this fall and I cannot wait to stroll the Boardwalk. The renderings I have seen of the skylift would be an asset to this area and just another step in the redevelopment of the downtown beachfront and Pavillion area. CoastersRZ
It still is ashame that the owners of Myrtle Beach Pavilion felt the need to redevelop that property. Unless something has changed since I last heard about it, the property is still waiting to see some redevelopment. Kind of sad, considering the property is right in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach. At least Family Kingdom still is open and doing well to the south.
