StXBomber
Yes, PKI has a robocoaster! It is located between FoF and Zephyr, and was free for Toyota day, but you had to have a special ticket to ride it. By the look of the supports, it seemed like it was only temporary and could be taken out with ease. It looked amazing, and I hope that maybe this was a test to see if PKI was getting a permanant one. I hope they do! I wasn't fortunate enough to get to ride it, but it looked fun! Also, there were 5 levels to chose from, 5 being the highest. 1 is really boring, they never go upside down, but 4-5 flings you all over the place! Dan
Yes, the Robocoaster is only temporary. It will be taken out after the park closes on Sunday. The ride was installed because of Toyota being in the park. To ride, you had to make a reservation and they ran out before the park closed, so many people were turned down. That might give PKI a little hint on what to install for 04'.
TheRickster
Had to do a google to see one of those. Man that looks like fun.If PKI puts one in they will probly charge extra though unless they find a way to get more people on and off quicker then just 2 seats. It looks like one of the old radio shack robot arms.
lordvolt
Perhaps HUSS can supersize it?
StXBomber
Actually, the line moved pretty quickly. Loading time was very short (well, duh! It's only 2 seats!). Look at Slingshot though, 2 people per ride, and it doesn't have THAT long of a line.
CantStopCabron
I don't know if that would be that cool. Unless they themed it and put it inside and stuff, it would never be able to replace a rollercoaster. Also, I think it would be pretty lame after a while, just going around in circles, no scenery, no night rides. I don't know, but I read about it in New York Times and it seemed like the swiss were just bragging about how ingenius they were to invent something so original. I didn't buy it. TheRickster
Its not orginal....... All it is is a radio shack arm from like the 70's with seats attached to it lol. The reason the line for slingshot isnt long is cause they charge extra for it. Now think of it this way with theming. This wouldve been just as good to use as a top spin in tr:tr If it was bigger which im sure it would and it was themed great. You could really work the ride to go with scenery on something like that in a VERY small amount of room. I dont consider it a coaster just a robot arm heh. It doesnt even have wheels pfft. AZ Kinda Guy
Had the oppurtunity to ride Robocoaster today. Took ride option 5 and I must say, it was GREAT. Ok, I'm weird but I actually liked the techno music they had playing around the ride. I think music adds greatly to a ride. Anywho, a great ride to bad it was temporary. Now only if Delirium homed as quick as that thing does.
SOB_TOM
I remember seeing a "stack" of sorts of these arms, where there were multiple levels. Thats one way to increase capasity without adding space.
StXBomber
Yeah, I liked the music. Music greatly increases a ride experience (i.e. Rockin' Roller Coaster at Disney, loved that ride!). And of course, the robocoaster would be a pay ride. If it wasn't, PKI would be out of their mind! I was very close to being able to ride it, but something happened and I couldn't ride!
coasterbilly
that thing does look really cool to ride. Too bad it was only there for that short amount of time. I hope one of those things makes its way over here so i can check it out, extreme fun!
