BoddaH1994
Ok guys, this is WAY just speculation, because the park is currently defunct, but hypothetically speaking, if they reopened Americana, would you guys want to meet there? It's not far at all from PKI and they have a classic John A Miller wooden coaster. Other than that, we could just ride the flats that they have there. Also, since you're allowed to bring in your coolers and stuff, we could have some sort of "everyone brings a dish" picnic or something. Don't take this as a hint that it's reopening, because I really have no information pertaining to the future of that park. Personally, the park wasn't exactly my cup of tea since I have been spoiled by PKI, but I'd still hate to see a park go under. It would be cool as a one time thing, I think. specialk141
ok well yeah, i owuld love to see americana re-open, and i would totally meet up for a pki-c day there... but i dont see this happening. here is why: Im a cincy local, and i work for a local ride company (yes im a carnie).... anyway, earlier this summer i asked my boss (who keeps up with the folks in the industry) and knows mr. couch (owner of park) what he thought about americana / lesourdesville. He says, and im beginning to agree with him, that : Couch never had any intention of running an amusment park, he just wanted the land for his campers, and is trying to make the business fail.... well, i dont know couch at all.... but as far as i know, (from what my boss told me) once he bought the park, he pretty much turned it all over to another company, and that other company is the one who put all the money and new rides into the park.... when the park showed some signs of success, he broke off the relationship with his partner company... who know whats happens now! I didnt get a chance to make it to the park last year, and i would really hate to miss out on it again! Lets hope for it reopening, cause lord knows that Screechin Eagle is a grre at coaster... but i don't see it happening. :cowboy:
BoddaH1994
^ I have heard that theory as well. Let's just pray to God that if Cough desides that he's going to demolish the park, our friends at ACE step in.

italianchef
I voted for "yeah I miss the park" because there wasn't a choice that said "I've never been there but would like to see it". Hence, that' my stand on this issue. I'd be happy to visit Americana if and when it ever opens. Hence you can count me in. Can I catch a ride with you as Mrs. Chef will surely need the car that day? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

italianchef
Im sure if people found out this was real they would glady go to another rv dealer heh. RV dealer? I don't get it. Can you please elaborate?
specialk141
chef, Couch (not sure of his first name) who owns the park, also owns the land adjacent to the park, and has for years. it has been his RV Dealership. He bought the park and ran it for a year or so, but when it showed signs of success broke off his parnership becuase some beleive he does not want the park to succeed. he just wants the l and the park is on to expand his RV business. I think what Rickster is trying to say, is that if the general public or enthusiasts found out that he was trying to make the park fail, only to gain the land for his business, they would gladyl take their business elsewhere... i know i would! :bike: P.S.... i like the new smiley's!
