chaddie
Did Avatar have the "Waves" of fabric covering the sides of the track last year or is that new for Surf Dog? I just cannot remember...
coaster_junky
no, here's a link to a picture from the KICentral photo gallery: avatar: the last airbender the "hump" didn't even have anything covering it.

CrashOverRided
@coaster_junky: thank you! i must ask......how many people are upset at the fact they removed the Avitar and replaced it with a "BOX" they could have at least put snoopy on a surf board rather then a box. bkroz
I could be wrong, but I don't think the box was added - rather, it just wasn't removed. I imagine it was the foundation for the giant Avatar figure, hidden beneath the plastic "cloud" he was standing on. It may be structurally important to the ride. Though I do agree they should've added a surfing Snoopy... Why not just have a giant printout version of the exact same figure on the facade of the Snoopy's Snack Shack? In all honesty, Surf Dog was probably the only Planet Snoopy ride to be downgraded from its Nickelodeon Days. But it still got a lot of attention. Those swirling water things that this post is all about were certainly not necessary or cheap - it was just a nice touch.

That photo was taken opening day of Nick U, many things were not completed for opening weekend. The "Wave" panels were added a few weeks later.
