DegenRider
PKI has a crapload of space why would they need a parking lot coaster? You are all skipping an era. Remember adventure Village. AZ is just fine the way it is. KC is dead. Those CPC folks Had to kill it!
Browntggrr
you know, they could pull a SF move and put a coaster on the parking lot. over by the bus parking a lot of that space isn't used. but i hope they don't. i'm just saying that they have a lot of extra parking space but i guess that's good. Not to insult your opinion of SF, but I think putting a coaster in a parking lot just looks bad. PKI has some of the best scenery of any park, a coaster of any size,in a parking lot, would destroy that. When I went to SF Ohio, I first saw Batman and was at awe at how the ride operated, and then I started to look around of how it was laid out and thought it could have been put in a better place. I would hate to see PKI be compared to SF.
coasterrz
I just don`t forsee PKI using their parking lot for a coaster. One main problem besides losing parking spaces and the obvious aesthetic issues, is getting people to the ride. The Action Zone is already well built up by the parking lot with Face Off, Congo Falls, Timberwolf Theater and Top Gun. I really don`t forsee them adding a coaster in their parking lot. I have a feeling the next time we go to the park in 2004, we will know where the 2005 attraction will be going and we might even know what that attraction is! I predict that there next coaster will be built in Coney Mall. Edited January 1, 1970 by CoasterRZ

coasterdudeOH
And I hope we never get a parking lot coaseter. But if we do, I know that PKI would theme it and landscape it better than Scream! at SFMM.

fyrfyter
Yeah. SFMM is just proving how stupid they are in the coaster race by adding an unthemed coaster over a parking lot. How stupid is that? At minimal, they could have torn up the parking lot, added some soil and planted some grass or bushes or crap like that. Its almost so bad of a coaster, I might not even ride it, just because of the stupid parking lot part.
fryler87
Either way, like I said, it would be sweet if PKI brought back King Cobra. Where they would/COULD put it is a good question. I will abide by the fact that parts for KC were expensive and quite rare and I will believe that this is one of the main reasons that the park took it out. The only question I have is what are they going to do with the REST of the space next to Delirium that has yet to be used? Could this area be used for turnaround element in a future coaster? THAT would be sweet.
adbort
You know this brings up a very interesting question? If it's true that it's hard to find parts for Togo stand up coasters. Why are the other 2 Togo stands up still operarting. Skyrider at PCW has been in operation since 1985, now if you look at it from this point of view. Skyrider has now been in operation longer then the King Cobra. Also Shockwave opened in 1986, so as of 2003 Shockwave at PKD has operated just as long as King Cobra. So how is Paramount able to keep these 2 rides up and running. I have a feeling the removeal of King Cobra had more than just not being able to find parts. I have a feeling PKI just didn't want to mess with it anymore.
DegenRider
C'mon I am sure they loved sending someone up the lift every 5 cycles or so cause of a computer fault. . Also could be the lawsuits from the people with hearing problems from KC's brakes.
coasterrz
Yeah, that`s one thing I remember about waiting in line for King Cobra, standing right next to the deafening brakes. I also remember standing up in the Eiffel Tower hearing King Cobra`s brakes. Good times. Unfortunately the King Cobra is no longer with us as I thouroughly enjoyed it, more so than any other stand-up coaster I`ve ridden.
bradb055
I remeber those brakes very well... It sounded like the train was being stopped by a bunch of 2x4's. It was still a good ride and I do miss it! Maybe a remake of it could appear sometime in the future (ok that might be a stretch). Was it just me or did the KC stop very quickly? Its ashamed to see such a influential coaster go to the dumpster. It was the first standing, looping coaster I believe. We got a great ride out of it anyway! Delium is a great ride but I woulnt want to give up the KC for it. Call me greedy, but I would have wanted both. Finaly, Im no longer a newby!!! I feel like one of the crowd now! coasterrz
Who wouldn`t want to have both. I think another great spot they could have put Delirium was the area that used to be the home of the Salt Water Circuis. They need a new attraction on that midway anyway. SixFlagsMasta
i don't know about you guys but i didn't really care for KC that much (wasn't an enthusiast then) while it was in operation but now that it's gone i miss it so much and would do anything to ride it again . even if they did put it back in the park (which they won't) it wouldn't be the same without all of the original theming and it's old location. i guess we just need to face the fact that things have to change sometime. i do wish they would've given more warning about it leaving. they didn't even announce it's leaving until after the season i believe. it sucked to just find out it was leaving and know that i would never ride it again. aero11
Has anyone else noticed how the park is keeping the spirit of the King Cobra alive. The track is setting out behind SOB for every one to see, the trains are in the drum of FOF, on the last park guide of the year, the front has a picture of the Eiffel Tower on it, and in the back ground you can see the outline of the lift hill against the night sky, and last but not least I found a T-shirt in Convenience Corner that had all of the Action Zone rides on it and it still had the King Cobra on it. coasterrz
I too notices that the last park guides of the season had the outline of the lift of King Cobra on the front cover. I disagree with you, aero11, that the park is trying to keep the spirit of King Cobra alive. Unless you know where to look on the Eiffel Tower, or Son of Beast, most people will probably never know about the rusting parts of King Cobra. Also, it is extremly difficult to see the King Cobra train(s) in Flight of Fear. I haven`t been able to see them this year, and I`ve been looking, so I doubt the gp will be able to identify them. That is odd that they still had a shirt with King Cobra on it as its been gone for now two full seasons.
PkiJake13
I thought on the guides, that was a stand-up lift hill. Thanks
coasterrz
Unless I missed something very obvious somewhere, King Cobra which is what I believe is pictured on the FearFest guide cover, is a stand-up roller coaster. PkiJake13
I was saying that I thought it was the King Cobra.
coasterrz
Oh, ok, that makes sense now. I too think that it is an old photo of King Cobra at sunset. They probably didn`t want to take a new picture just for a sunset, so they used the one with King Cobra in it and didn`t bother using Photoshop to erase it, because to the gp, they might not notice that it is King Cobra becuase all that you see is the shadow and out line of a small portion of the lift. PKI_Man
most of the track is located where they shoot off the fireworks and 10 pieces of KC is in back of SOB
coasterrz
Actually, I beleive that most of the track is not located where they shoot off fireworks. It may be close to where they shoot off fireworks, but the location where they shoot off fireworks is down by the Miami River and barely visible from the Eiffel Tower. Also, I believe that there are slightly more than ten pieces of KC track behind SoB.
Beastfreak
...but the location where they shoot off fireworks is down by the Miami River and barely visible from the Eiffel Tower. ... Its not that far back. Though, the other pieces of King Cobra are where they "used" to fire the fireworks from. The new location is right behind the turn around of The Racer.
