Jasper
As some of you probably know I went to Cedar Point last Sunday-Wednesday. Well I took a LOT of pictures from my iPhone camera, so they are not too great of quality. I also could not get all of them to upload onto Photobucket so I only have a handful. As for the trip, we left Richmond, Ky. around noon'ish and stopped at a Skyline in Northern Kentucky to tide us over for hopefully the night. We ended up getting to the park around 6:30-7:00. We were greeted by a huge storm cell coming towards the park. We decided to go to Millennium Force first to get a ride in before the storm came and hit. As we were getting ready to bored Milly I looked off in the distance and saw a lightning bolt hit and thought oh great they are going to close it down as soon as we get on it, I was wrong. We were actually the last train of the night I believe. After they came and released our restraints out on the brake run to let us off because they were closing down we started to walk towards Maverick to see maybe if by the time we got over there the rain and thunder would let up. We got caught in the middle of a downpour right before you enter the tunnel to go under Millennium's second and third hills. We waited there for about 15 minutes and the rain finally let up, so we took off towards Maverick again. I got my first view of Shoot The Rapids, which was not operating (It had just opened the day before to give you a heads up of what day we went on). We finally arrived at Maverick to see a closed queue line, not to our surprise. So we sat under the food stand roof right beside the queue and waited on the rain and storm to pass again. As it started to clear up we went and stood in line to get into the queue as soon as they opened it. They began to test cars and it looked like it was going to be a pretty nice evening. Well just as soon as they started to test them the storm brought more lightning. So we decided we have 3 days left, we will go back to the hotel, eat, and then just come back tomorrow. As we were leaving it cleared up really nice and it appeared that all of the rides were back up and running. As wee arrived back at our hotel we asked them what a good place to eat was, and they recommend Chet and Matt's pizza. This was delicious, a must eat next time anyone goes to Cedar Point. The personal pan pizzas were so good and it was like a sports bar setting. Pretty much in bout an hour and a half or two hours at the park we got to ride one ride, Milly, due to the weather. I will type day two as soon as I get back home. For now I leave you with some pictures. As you will see I took a lot of photos of Mantis. Sorry for the iPhone zoom quality. Top Thrill Dragster sticks above the trees in Mantis' queue line. You have to love how twisted Mantis' back half really is. Truly a B&M staple of twisted track. Inclined loop juicyness! Mantis' giant vertical loop. Dive loop and entrance area. More to come!
KI FANATIC 37
Nice pictures! It looks crowded in Mantis's queue, was it?
Jasper
Nice pictures! It looks crowded in Mantis's queue, was it? It was decently crowded, it was a queue line full but only amounted to about a 15-20 minute wait.
Jasper
Well to start day 2 off we stopped by the McDonalds on the way to The Point. Then we headed to the park for ERT. Got there a little bit late and decided to go to Maverick first to get a ride in. We decided to stop on the way and hit Raptor up since it did not have too much of a line and I know how long and dreadful Raptor can get. Got a great ride on an amazing B&M Invert. After this we pressed on towards Frontiertown and decided to stop and hit Iron Dragon. After a ride on the dragon we headed back towards Maverick and at this time it was approaching 10:00. As soon as we got to Maverick we found a full queue line and about a 30 minute wait, at this point I was getting skeptical on the crowds for the rest of the day. Turned out, I was right, the rest of the day was quite crowded and every major ride, like TTD, MF, MAverick, and Raptor averaged around an hour to two hours. Throughout the rest of the day we got to ride most every ride at least once and decided to wait on the water rides for day three. On day three we decided we would give the resort gate behind Magnum a go for quicker access to Maverick for ERT. Big mistake, the line was wrapped around the putt putt course and back to the Hotel Breakers property. Luckily it moved at a reasonable pace. We got in the park and went directly to Maverick and only found about a 15-20 minute wait, so all in all the resort gate helped us out a little bit, but I would still stick to the main gate. On day three we decided we were going to get in some ERT and then go hit up the water rides and go to the water park for a little while. After our ERT on Maverick we decided to hit up Shoot The Rapids. We followed this up with rides on Thunder Canyon, and Snake River Falls. It was not very hot so we were shivering cold. We only hit up one slide in Soak City, Zoom Flume. The rest of the day was spent with the usual longer lines but getting rides on most everything we wanted to. We stayed until close tonight and hit up Magnum 4 times, including in my new favorite seat on any coaster, 1-3. On day 4 we were just going to go in the park for ERT on Maverick, and then wait for Magnum to open and then do some souvenir shopping. Got two great rides in and also got some souvenirs, including a Coastermania hoody for 10 bucks, a Raptor and Magnum frosted mug, two shirts, and two keychains. Then it was time to leave one of the greatest places on earth and head home sadly. I love Cedar Point and to this day it is one of my favorite places to be ever. We headed back towards Richmond and planned on heading straight home until we saw the signs for Kings Island. Well we decided to hit up KI as well and just ride Diamondback. Got into the park and found about a 20-25 minute wait but we were already used to the lines so it didn't bother us too much. But that ended us on a high note and concluded one of, if not the greatest trip of my life. Stay tuned for ride reviews and the rest of my pictures. Jasper
Here is my ride reviews section. Maverick-This became tied for favorite coaster ever. The airtime is abundant, the sense of being out of control is all there, and the tunnel launch is fast and furious. Not to mention the past vertical first drop. 10/10 Magnum XL-200-I still cannot get enough of this hyper coaster. Built in 1989, this coaster still tops the list as well for me. The ejector seat is pure bliss and you get almost violent airtime over the camelback hills. 10/10 Top Thrill Dragster-I forgot just how intense the launch was and even though we only got to ride it twice, this ride still takes my breath away every time I ride it. An amazing ride. 9/10 Millennium Force-The future rides on this every day and ever time I ride it I feel like I am riding on the smooth steel rails of a big blue monster. I love this coaster to this day with a passion. 9/10 Raptor-I love to kick that Sandusky sky! This invert has so much forces and the first drop still gets my stomach every time. Not to mention the ever famous cobra roll. 8.5/10 Wicked Twister-This ride slammed into my top 10 on this visit. The twists sitting in the front and back are violent and forceful and really make you wanna come back for more and more. Break the scream barrier! 10/10 Blue Streak-Besides Wicked Twister, this coaster is very underrated, the airtime is amazing and it is not rough at all. The dips really get your stomach and give you out of your seat fun. 8.5/10 Mean Streak-This coaster was not even the least bit fun. The trims slow it down to where it is miserable and it is almost as rough as the rose bowl on SOB was. I do not wish this coaster upon anyone, ever. 2/10 Mantis-If you have not rode a stand up coaster, ride it to say you have but other than that, I will only ride it once every couple of hours so my calves don't explode. 5.5/10 Wildcat-This coaster really impressed me with how smooth it was, except for the stop. If it has a short line, definitely have to ride it. 7/10 Iron Dragon-This is probably my least favorite suspended I have rode, the first drop is the best part, then after that it is kinda slow and methodical. 5/10 Corkscrew-The first drop and the camel back hill got my stomach in true Arrow fashion, then the true arrow roughness kicked in. 5/10 Gemini-Even though we only got to race one ride, it was well worth it, the drop still takes my breath away to this day, gotta love the arrow drops. 7.5/10 Cedar Creek Mine Ride-Adventure Express is better but the drop over the water makes this ride worth riding. 4/10 Disaster Transport-Something to get out of the heat and get a ride on a bobsled if you have never rode on one. 4/10 Skyhawk-One of my favorite flats, right up there with my baby Drop Tower. The restraints still make me feel like I am going to fly out. 9/10 Power Tower (Space Shot)-Did not get to ride the turbo drop but the space shot still takes my breath away on the initial launch. 7/10 Maxair-Still think Delirium is better, but they are about an even trade off to me. 7/10 Shoot The Rapids-The first drop really took my breath away because of how steep it was. I also got soaked which is what a water ride is meant to do in my opinion. But other than that the theming wasn't really abundant in my opinion. 6/10 Overall I was most impressed with Wicked Twister, which brings my favorites to Magnum, Maverick, Millennium, Top Thrill, Wicked Twister, and Raptor. Pictures to come!
Jasper
Top Thrill lit up at night, truly an amazing sight. Mean Streak has one of the most beautifully lit structures of any coaster at night. Not a very good picture. Milly beautifully lit up at night, once again sorry for the quality. One of my new favorites, Wicked Twister. Wicked Twister test seat. Wicked Twister entrance sign. Maxair in full swing. Maxair from the front. One of my favorite shots, the infamous Raptor Cobra Roll. Another train full of happy riders kicking the Sandusky sky! Corkscrews cold steel heart, from the TV ad for Cedar Point way back when. The Dodgem sign lit up at dusk. Shoot the Rapids final drop. Final drop with the jets going across. Mantis looking like a bird of prey at dusk. Mantis queue area at dusk.
Jasper
Power Tower The bird of prey looking in your eyes before you board. In the Raptor queue line looking through the fence. Oh yes I did! Raptor entrance area. Usually the line was backed out to here during the day. A lighter shot of the vertical loop. Raptor with Blue Streak in the background. This ride is simply amazing, I love it. My pitiful attempt to get the whole skyline in. The giant wheel. Looking up Maxair's structure. MY one and true love in the world, Magnum XL-200. Magnum's station peers over the trees. That my friends, is a coaster structure. In Maverick's station looking up the launched lift. Look at that twisted Intamin goodness. More twisted track on Maverick. One of my favorite shots on Maverick I took. From the entrance to Maverick. Mantis looming over water, sorry I found Mantis very photogenic. Mantis first drop. Incoming. From the queue line looking up the stairs. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Terp, who knows these things I truly will look back and remember all the days I have spent at Cedar Point. To me, Kings Island and Cedar Point are places that bring me true joy and no matter what type of day I am having, nothing can bring me down. Didn't know there were any other Mantis fans other than me. (lol) I will ride the coaster when I am there, but like I said, spread it out over a couple of hours, the first drop and vertical loop are pretty good. PhantomTheater
We stayed until close tonight and hit up Magnum 4 times, including in my new favorite seat on any coaster, 1-3. and Magnum XL-200-I still cannot get enough of this hyper coaster. Built in 1989, this coaster still tops the list as well for me. The ejector seat is pure bliss and you get almost violent airtime over the camelback hills. 10/10 You are speaking the truth, 1-3 is Magnum in all it's glory Blue Streak-Besides Wicked Twister, this coaster is very underrated, the airtime is amazing and it is not rough at all. The dips really get your stomach and give you out of your seat fun.8.5/10 Blue Streak is a true gem, now only if they un-modernized those PTC's Mean Streak-This coaster was not even the least bit fun. The trims slow it down to where it is miserable and it is almost as rough as the rose bowl on SOB was. I do not wish this coaster upon anyone, ever.2/10 Front Seat, it's a fun ride and I will defended it. However those trims most be taken care of! Wildcat-This coaster really impressed me with how smooth it was, except for the stop. If it has a short line, definitely have to ride it.7/10 Ride the Kitty, you will like it. People underestimate the fun of a Schwarzkopf coaster. Disaster Transport-Something to get out of the heat and get a ride on a bobsled if you have never rode on one.4/10 The que is nice and cool, however the ride is an oven, especially the lift hill. Milly beautifully lit up at night, once again sorry for the quality. Please do not stop on perimeter road (except at stop signs), for your safety as well as other vehicles. Nice trip report, with well placed advertising slogans to help readers 'get to the Po!nt' about the Amazement Park. Did you ride Cedar Downs, no trip is complete without riding one of three derby racers left.
