Kirk Sheppard
I arrived about 9:35 and the gates were open. It seemed more crowded than it was last week. I bought some sunscreen . . . $12 for a little bottle! That's robbery! But its my fault for not getting it at Wal-Mart on my way. I also rented a locker for the first time... that was much more convenient than walking out to the car to get my stuff. I took my iPad today because I wanted to write. Unfortunately, I forgot my wifi hotspot device so it wasn't as useful as I'd hoped but I still was able to write... Look for that project coming to a thread near you. :-) So, it was super crowded and I decided to get a jump on the crowd by going through the Gold Pass entrance back towards the rope drop so I could get on BLSC without a wait. Well, it was closed. So I walked all the way back there for no good reason. I then headed over towards Flightdeck. I waited for two trains (if it hangs is it still a train?) to get the front row. It was fun but even with a Dramamine, I was woozy getting off. The heat was probably not helping either. I wore swimtrunks so I could ride Congo Falls. I had no wait and rode in the 3rd row with a nice family. I got wet, but not soaked. I asked to ride again and just had to switch rows. I went up to the second and rode next to a very funny young guy who was nervous and upset that his friends drug him on because he was wearing jean shorts. Well, we got soaked this time. It was so hot and I was prepared for this so I appreciated it very much. Getting off I couldn't believe how strong the wave was that hits the exit area... wow! After this, I rode Viking Fury and then went to get my bag out of my locker and headed to the Festhaus. I had LaRosa's and the young lady who I complained about so vehemently on here several trips ago was SO FRIENDLY! Its like she read this and someone told her to cheer up. She chatted me up re: my waterproof pouch and offered me a show schedule and was just delightful. I meant to stop at Guest Relations before I left but I will try to find an email address or something since I forgot. I got a seat, ate my cheesesticks and Coke and just enjoyed the cool quiet break. The place started to fill up the closer we got to noon. Way Too Much TV came out for their sound check and I stayed for the 12:30 show. Its still the best. After this, I returned my locker key and took my $5 over to the pink ducks and bought another one. The line to get handstamped was huge, I assume by people wanting to eat lunch in their cars... Overall, a nice morning in the park and I can't wait till the weather breaks a little so I can spend a little more time there without dying of heat stroke. Kirk Sheppard
My friends from school are there now. I know you said ot was hot and crowded, how crowded? Its hard for me to tell you since I wasn't waiting in any lines after lunch. I just know the Festhaus was pretty full when I left it at 1:00 PM. MarketingExpress
Sunscreen used to be free in the first aid stations...not sure if that's still the case.
Jasper
Well I would be able to see how crowded it is but my webcam has stopped working for Diamondback. I am going on Sunday so I am hoping for not too big of crowds.
