KYCavsFan
What kind of rain should I expect in Mason on Saturday with the stated forecast?
CoasterFreak45
The weather changes so quickly here, I would check on saturday morning. Just go and enjoy your day, the rain can scare some people off, and make it less busy.
KI FANATIC 37
I learned this lesson a t Cedar Point. Do not worry about the weather forecast. It changes to much. It called for Thunderstorms the whole time at CP and didn't rain once. You might get an hour of showers but thats all. It won't rain the whole day. Have fun! Yeah during my 2 days at CP, it was supposed to rain all day the first day and then be clear and sunny all day the second day. The first day had overcast all day but not a single bit of rain, the second day had 20 minutes of rain in the middle of the day. Yeah I'd just go, I doubt it would rain all day, and if it does rain it'll clear out the park. Some of my best trips to KI have been on a rainey day. frisbeefan
Like everyone has said, just go and have fun! It can rain in Mason, but completely miss most of the park. Rain can be a blessing when at the park, especially if it's busy.
KI FANATIC 37
Especially at KI. Like Terpy said a while back, Cedar Point is a vacation spot. If it rains people aren't going to go home. They might go back to their hotel but not leave the park. ON the other hand KI is not. If it rains the majority of the people will leave. The Interpreter
Besides, the Mason area National Weather Service forecast for Saturday has already improved: Saturday Mostly cloudy in the morning...then becoming partly sunny. A 30 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid 80s. East winds around 5 mph. Saturday Night Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers in the evening. Lows in the mid 60s. East winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
KYCavsFan
I already booked my hotel for Friday night (Cheapest I could find online was $48 in Miamisburg!). Everything else was so expensive closer to Cincinnati. Must be a lot going on this weekend. I know the rain will scare a few guests off but I still hope the sun shines so I can ride the water rides. KI FANATIC 37
From what Terpy said you shouldn't be frightened at all! You'll be fine!!
Plankton
I learned not to fear a chance of showers because KI may never get hit while surrounding areas can. Also they are usually a light rain that does not last long. Several times last October I went to CP despite a high chance of showers, and more than half the time the park never got hit. I remember once the park did, and it was similar to an off and on mist the whole night; the park was dead.
The Interpreter
And now it's down to this from the National Weather Service for Mason today: Today Mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers. Highs in the lower 80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Tonight Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers in the evening. Lows in the mid 60s. East winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. That basically Dayton. Cincinnati has Jazz Fest and 3 sold out Braves vs Reds games this weekend.
markr
Although KI was packed today, the weather was beautiful-for once it wasn't hot and humid.
KYCavsFan
Although KI was packed today, the weather was beautiful-for once it wasn't hot and humid. Yeah but the weather scared everyone away from the water rides so that made the other lines twice as long it seemed. Didn't even ride Diamondback when I was there yesterday. markr
Even with the crowds, DB was just 45-50 minute wait and the line was back to the buffet entrance. That is some capacity ride.
