Secret Service, FBI Looking Into Carnival Game

Recommended Posts

The FEDS and The Secret Service have taken notice and are looking into an amusement part company that has a game where players shoot and kill President Obama...or a look-a-like.

Irvin Good Jr., president of the company Goodtime Amusements, said Wednesday to The Morning Call they didn't mean to offend anyone with their game "Alien Attack" ....

The game depicts a Black man in a suit holding a piece of paper entitled "Health Bill" and a belt buckle similar to the presidential seal. To top it off the man also has antennas coming out of his head and a troll doll on his shoulder.

The game cost $1 per shot or $5 for 6 shots for players to fire foam darts at the Obama look-a-like's head and heart for their chance to win a stuffed animal.

The White House issued a statement saying it disapproves of using the President's name and likeness for commercial purposes.

It's sick honestly, and that goes for all other games like it....It's just disgusting and just shows that the reason America is in trouble is not Obama's fault, but the people themselves.

Wait. The White House "disapproves of using the President's name and likeness for commercial purposes".

Did anyone tell that to the American Broadcasting Company, whose commercial, money-making enterprise called "The View," used his name and likeness to promote their show many, many times before he appeared last week?

Anyway, the game graphic was in poor taste, and shows a decline in respect for the highest office in the land, regardless of political motives. It has no place on the midway!

Anybody can sue anybody for anything. That doesn't mean they will prevail or collect a dime even if they do (Kings Island sued Roller Coaster Company of Ohio over Son of Beast, won, and collected not a dime).

Separate provisions of law also protect against the commercial use of the Presidency, the President's likeness, etc. Still other provisions make any attempt to cause the President harm, to state that one intends to or to encourage others to a crime. Some of those provisions apply to any Federal employee, others do not.
