You know what I just realized, is that all this upgrade/repaint/repair stuff we talk about costs money and time. No doubt PKI knows all of the stuff we talk about needs to be fixed sometime, but it's almost overwhelming to me. They are definitely going to have to stretch all of this stuff out over a period of a few years...

Maybe it's a "revamp" phase the park is going through right now - it makes sense to me. The park just revamped the fountains. Maybe painting is next? Who knows? Maybe I'm just nuts, but they could have a multi-year plan laid out to revamp "damaged" parts of the park.

Whats AE?

As much as everyone really complains, PKI really does a good job at

fixing theming, repainting, etc.

Not much themeing but yes the do do a great job.

Actually it wasn't primed until post season (when park goes back to weekends only) of 2001, so not really half the season. It was fully repainted by time the park went to full season of 2002. It makes it difficult to paint the ride on certain days while the maintenance guys have to do checks and stuff and cycle the ride, so that slows it down. Plus the tower would take forever anyways do to all that metal going every which direction.

They didn't paint it all at once. The corkscrew and whatnot were painted like preseason 01, and the whole summer the batwing and surrounding elements weren't painted till the offseason.

As Far as Repairs go iam Glad PKI Fixed the Problem where some Punks Started to rip the WallPaper off in the line to Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle when i seen that i was ****ed i hate how People have no good Judgement to leave stuff alone and let it be as it is

Way back when that first opened, I too noticed the picking away of the wallpaper as well as the placing of garbage on the ledge before going down into tha main inside queue. Anyway, in the visitor feedback survey from Thrillresearch.com, I commented on those very things. Low and behold the next time I visited, they had fixed the wallpaper and placed plexiglass over it to prevent further picking. Also, they put a trash can by the ledge, to prevent a monster of gabage from collecting on the ledge.

The only thing that bothered me about their entrance line was that they always had two trashcan out front of the "gate". No matter what time I passed there during the day... they were always full and people just started stacking stuff on top or on the ground around them. Never looked good. Its no wonder people would put their stuff on the ledges in line, they don't have "available" trash cans to deposit trash in. Trash was my number one pet peeve in the park this year, just seeing trash cans full to the brim and not a single ecology person insite to take care of it. Makes the park look as bad as a park with vandalism, peeling/fading paint and what not.

during this years season.

Do they not have enough trash cans? I remember going to Cedar Point this year and seeing NO TRASH on the ground or anywhere. There were trash cans EVERYWHERE though.

CP has A LOT of trash cans, definately more than PKI.

Hmmmm thats funny. For the 03 season, guest complaints on park cleanliness(sp?) we cut in half compared to 02. Ecology did a kick ass job last season (03) and I really respect them for what they do. Granted it doesn't SEEM hard at first, but you give it a try and see how it easy it is after a nice hot July month.

Trust me.. in food, our trash cans fill up much faster at big locations. Its a pain.
