Kentucky Kingdom

Recommended Posts

I don't think Cedar Fair would get KK, Six flags is obviously done with them,

But I think Parc would be a possibility.

Also palace entertainment, the new owner of Kennywood may be interested.

there are about 5-6 owners that are a possibility but I think Parc may be thinking about it.

The park itself though, has almost been completely destroyed by six flags, the Ferris wheel looks like it's going to collapse

It's carousel is in bad condition, The organ isn't doing well either, the park used to do better than Holiday World, what company would you like to see at this park?

Do any of you believe this... When Kentucky Kingdom was making money back in 1998-2000 under the SixFlags name, they made profits and had plans for new coasters and rides or what ever. I heard from speculation from another sites that Kentucky Kingdom was going to add an impulse coaster in the year 2000/2001. There were also rumors on screamscape about that back then. The impulse coaster was sent to Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure/Geauga Lake so that park could compete with Cedar Point. A couple of Kentucky Kingdoms other rides were also sent to Six Flags World of Adventure. There was also speculation of a flying coaster...x-flight/Firehawk.

And none of that happened due to one thing:

Paramount's Kings Island responded in force to the expansion at Kentucky Kingdom. The major expansion of Action Zone all happened in response to Kentucky Kingdom's plans, which then did, indeed, move to Six Flags Ohio...even the marketing people at KK at the time went to what was then Six Flags Ohio...

That was a stupid mistake on Six Flags part. That right their could be the main reason why the parks attendance has been declining since about the year 2000/2001. Even if Kings Island added those additions in 1999 doesn't mean to send off kentucky kingdoms profits to another park! x-flight and superman ultimate escape would have been a right fit for Kentucky Kingdom too and would have boost up attendance!

Premier Parks bought Funtime Inc. in 1995, which included Geauga Lake. Premier then acquired Kentucky Kingdom in 1997 before buying Six Flags in 1998. Six Flags did not buy either park and GL was acquired before Kentucky Kingdom. The questions are what would have happened if Premier didn't buy Six Flags? If FUN didn't buy GL? or even KI? what would be the fate of all three parks then? Even Wyandot Lake, as it was part of Funtime Inc/Premier/Six Flags.

I'd really like to know what is going to happen to Greezed Lightnin.

me too. It does not appear to be on Ed Hart's proposal being located in the front of the park which he plans not to re-open. I have never had the please sure to ride it, but would love the opportunity and won't miss it again if it operates there again.
