bkroz
General update page located here. (The photos provided are screen-captures from an official YouTube video, embedded below. __________________________________ New at Water Country USA will be "Vanish Point." The crest of this 75-foot tower challenges you with two wave paths. You can step into a skybox where you drop down when the floor drops out. Or get horizontal on the 300’ speed slide where you drop down as soon as you flop down … straight down. ___________________________________ Meanwhile, at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, you'll find "Mäch Tower." Craning your neck to see the top, you notice a group of revelers being lifted and spiraling into the stratosphere. Suddenly, in a rush of wind and screams, they drop. So does your jaw. This is Mäch Tower, the highest ride in Busch Gardens. It’s 245 feet of adrenaline-pulsing thrills with a view of the park and surrounding countryside you have to see to believe. That is, if you can keep your eyes open. ____________________________________ Additionally, there are various improvements going on in the Oktoberfest area (in preparation for the new attraction, I'm sure). My mind immediately hopes that they'll do a second massive update of DarKastle, adding new scenes, effects, and re-programming the movement, as they did in 2006: After more than 30 years, we're updating the look and feel of the iconic Oktoberfest area. The restaurants, games, and everything in between will be new for visitors in 2011. ____________________________________ And perhaps most notably for many here: Then, in 2012, we unveil our next attraction: a MULTI-LAUNCH ROLLER COASTER featuring many "firsts." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSr2PcUttU4&feature=youtu.be
06jds377
Well, looks like I'll be headed to BGE in 12...
PhantomTheater
I took a survey today from BGW, in it asked thoughts about potential names and a possible description of the coaster. See if you can brave the Black Forest on Busch Garden’s all-new roller coaster in the Germany area. What starts as a nice ride through the countryside quickly launches into a lightning-fast, multi-sensory dash through crazy turns, hidden hazards and heart-pounding drops. Inspired by the famed autobahn, the ride combines fast launches, special effects and indoor and outdoor elements to make it a one-of-a-kind coaster experience. The potential names, of which one or none will be selected. VerboltenRevenge of the Black Forest Black Forest Turbo Uber Bahn

"Black Forest Turbo?" That's almost as bad as "Cheetah Hunt."
XGatorHead 8904
Out of those four, I like Verbolten the best too.
PREMiERdrum
Out of those four, I like Verbolten the best too. And, it's German for "Forbidden," which could lend itself to some cool back story.
XGatorHead 8904
^Well, close to German for forbidden (which is actually "verboten"). That's why I like it.
bkroz
Perhaps the added "l" is intentional... It forms a very important English word within the German root I'm absolutely excited for this ride, but am getting mixed signals about it's theme.. The references to the Black Forest seem to indicate a haunted woods, Thirteen-esque ride. But some of the possible ride names and the autobahn reference seem to indicate that perhaps they're thinking of a racing theme? Autobahns? Turbo? Uber bahn? I can't imagine that Busch Gardens would have a ride like that... So I'm not too worried. Hopefully those names are in reference to the rides speed only. We shall see! Posted from my iPhone 4. Four years of German in HS... and I didn't even notice that the "l" was there.

jake287
Has an official opening date, for Verbolten, been announced to the public?
bkroz
My interpretation is that it's expected to be open when (or shortly after) the park opens, though "spring" is still the only real timeline. It's also got multiple launch areas and an element that is the first of its kind in America, so even that is "subject to change."
