CoasterKrazy
Has anyone heard any rumors lately as to whether or not Festhaus would be re-themed and re-vamped any time soon? ( Like within the next few years ) There seemed to be quite a lot of speculation saying that Oktoberfest will soon be phased out, especially with the addition of Bubba Gumps. fryler87
If they do retheme Festhaus and get rid of the clock, I'll never come to the park again!!!! I think they would benefit from refurbishing the inside...the colors are kind of depressing and it always seems a little too dark in there for me. If it just got a facelift, I would be really happy. I think getting rid of Oktoberfest is one of those things that may happen, but it's not the park's top priority right now.
SixFlagsMasta
the clock better stay cause that's one of the only things i remember from the park from my early days
BoddaH1994
I disagree... the clock is fine, but I couldn't care less. On the flip side, I like how it's dark in there. It's a excellent contrast from the hot bright days outside.
CoasterKrazy
But it still isn't dark enough to be able to see the video screens ( if they happen to be working at the time you're in there )
Magic41445
The clock is a memorable aspect of the festhouse but what I remember most was the great smell of german food upon entering and the old shows, especially during Winterfest. I feel that the festhouse can be much more than an airconditioned food court. At the very least i would love to once again see new productions inhabit the house. Losing Streak
Why change something that works? and don't expect any more light in there because Coke has a lot of money tied up in the video screens, and Coke is important.
DragonLord
People from Paramount Parks Corporate were there last year taking pictures of the outside of the Festhaus from all angles and the mentioned a possible "update".
AZ Kinda Guy
You guys want to experience an awesome Festhaus with awesome German food? Go try out Busch Gardens Williamsburg Festahaus. Freaking awesome!
fryler87
I remember the good-old days when they had an ice-rink up where the middle screen was and they would put on shows all the time, or so it seemed. Man, THOSE were the GOOD old days!!!
Shman
Man, THOSE were the GOOD old days!!! Yes they were, that is back when Live Entertainment meant something to the park!!!!!! Now they won't even put money into the department. Anyways.....I few years back there was a major rumor out that the festhaus was going to be taken over by Coke and turned into a Dave&Busters/Gameworks sort of place. I always thought that would be pretty cool. But alas Coke did take over the themeing(If you want to call it that), but there was never the transformation into a Game eatery. stephenmayes
That would be pretty cool. But the Festhaus to many is a place to go to relax during a tiring day. So I would like to see them keep it the way they are and just add some shows. Am I the only one who has a hard time seeing the screens in the Festhaus? I wish that Festhaus still offered German food and live entertainment. Unfortunately, in spite of the large German-American population in Greater Cincinnati.....pizza and fast food sells better than German food. If I had my way, Festhaus at PKI would be like a mini Germany Pavillion at Epcot or like Festhaus at Busch Gardens.
Beastfreak
People from Paramount Parks Corporate were there last year taking pictures of the outside of the Festhaus from all angles and the mentioned a possible "update". All I hear is.... Blah Blah Blah... I'm a dirty tramp.... Not happening right now. Festhaus is staying as it is. Dragon... I'm not making fun of you. Its just a saying from a movie. drewbari
Oktoberfest and the Festhaus were there from the get go and should stay.
SOB_TOM
I know for a fact that the express/ship crew doesnt want us to remove the clock at least. There favorite song wouldnt be there every 15 minutes.
derbeast
Oktoberfest and the Festhaus were there from the get go and should stay. The Festhaus isn't original to the park... it was added a year or more later. I like the idea of turning Festhaus into a game works type place since the place is never full as long as they keep plenty of table space but it didn't happen and that's too bad. Whether or not the Octoberfest theme will be kept is a toss up but either way it doesn't really matter to me. Something needs to be done though, the whole area is looking pretty shabby. Beastfreak
I like the idea of turning Festhaus into a game works type place since the place is never full .... What?!?!? There must be another Festhaus. Cause I see it full a lot during the season.
coasterrz
Actually, the Festhaus was built for the 1983 season, nine years after the park opened. Everytime I`ve been to the park and been in the Festhaus, it has been busy. Even on days when the park is less crowded that place is busy. In part because it and the more expensive Wings are the only two air conditioned eateries at PKI, besides Oscar`s and International Restaurant, both of which are closed to the general public. fryler87
This is true about it being full. Sometimes when I go with my friends on a busy day (like Saturday), it can be difficult to find a place to sit. The park already has enough places to play pay-games. There's a while strip of games and arcade games in Old Coney. I doubt the Festhaus will ever be totally removed.
derbeast
Really, I remember going there as a guest all the time about 4 years ago and it was never full, I guess things have changed since then or I always caught it during a down time. Now that I work there I hardly ever go into the Festhaus.
DegenRider
Ive seen that place empty 2 times and both times the park was closed. Its always packed!
