SIX: Just a thought...

Recommended Posts

Among other things, not much has been said about where Mr. Jim Reid-Anderson, the Chairman of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, came from:

Prior to joining Six Flags, Jim Reid-Anderson was an adviser to Apollo Management L.P....

Also, note he is Chairman, President AND CEO.

Interesting, no?

It also is funny how some former Paramount People are now working for Flags. Not just Webber but a few former GMs and few from Corprate. It would not surprise me if we see Tim Fisher working for SIX soon not one bit. As my mom always tells me its not what you know its WHO you know.

Sounds like a true County Club atmosphere. Some companies do it more successfully than others (See: GM; SIX; FUN; etc. for varying results)

And, by all accounts, Mr. Reid-Anderson is a finance guy, not an operations guy.

Some of us Noticed that when we had a Q and A with the new GM of Great Adventure at Riding of the Bull . We asked about the parking thing for 2011. You should of herd his Answer. Right off The Bat i knew he was all about $$$$$. I really miss Mark Cane but he is happy in Texas.

I miss Temple of the Tiger. I miss the fire department. And I definitely miss Mark Shapiro. I do NOT miss Dan Snyder. Or Gary Story.

I know im bummed that the Tiger show isn't happing next year that was a good show and the traniers really got the crowd going. I guess if there going to move the tigers to Cali might as well start moving that 456 foot green thing to. I might be to color blind next year with 2 green coasters next year Tee hee.

GO Green Six Flags. Starting Kingda Ka and Green Lantran. Sry Just had to.

That was bad. Just don`t start greenwashing! That is a real issue too. Amusement parks may be slow to catch onto the sustainable movement (especially in terms of LEED accredited buildings, but zoos are on the forefront of that movement. I know the Cincinnati Zoo has several LEED certified buildings.

Am I right in the understanding that the TotT was closed, but the tigers will continue to be cared for in their safari park? I don't see the advantage in closing down the show...

For the time being, the tigers have moved to the safari. As pkiboy hinted, rumor is rife that they are in fact moving on to Discovery Kingdom in California. Stay tuned.

I missed that. Doesn't SFDK have their own cats as well? And was it SFGA or SFDK who got the cats from SFWoA?

PREMiER.... never afraid to admit what he does not know, and tries not to speculate on that he knows little of.

I have no data on amusement park buildings (and do trust that you know of what you talk), but would also note that use of the LEED certification process as the only measure of green construction is incomplete. There are buildings that attain LEED certification that are no more sustainable and energy efficient than non-LEED buildings, and there are sustainable/energy efficient buildings constructed that do not go after the LEED certification - the fees can get expensive, and even more so for non-members of the Green Building Council.

Cant Say much But Stay Tuned. Yes Discovery Kingdom has there own set of Cats.

Looking at DK's cat roster(they have 10 adults and 2 cubs), I'm almost sure that SFWoA's cats were taken there.

I was never that impressed with the Tiger Island habitat at the Aurora park. It was much too small and the pool was tiny.
