3 SoB Trains?

Featured Replies

I found it intresting that it was mentioned about the 3 SoB trains being disassembled with the 3 Beast trains (end of the article, in the box). Is the 3rd train ever used, or even exist for that matter, or is this a misinformed stat?

Yeah, the third train is around, it was only on the tracks for a short time and then removed. If I remember correctly, it had something to deal with the blocking system, and that they could never get the system to work right with all three trains on the circuit.

They say that with delays that happen in the station most of the time that the 3 trains on the track would cause them to stop in the block brakes. I also heard something about changes in the design at the end ended up not allowing for the third train.

The way I understand it is that originally, the station was supposed to sit where the current transfer table area is and that the transfer table area was supposed to be where the station is now. However, at the last minute they swaped the design, and in the process somehow, a block sction was lost. Since they wouldn`t be able to hold all three trains t or around the station, they decided not to put the third train on the circuit because it would get stuck on the midcourse break before the loop if there was a delay in the station. It is my understanding that the extra train is rehabbed over the summer so that they only have to rehab one SoB train during the winter, and thus have more time to concentrate on the other dozens of cars they have to inspect.

The trains are rotated...but i dont know about what you said CoasterRZ about working on one over the summer....they might but ive never heard that. But like last year we ran tains 1 and 2. Previous summer we ran trains 1 and 3.

If this is true, then the trains would have been REALLY moving when they flew into the station. My guess is that something else went on when they decided that the station belonged where it is now, cause I don't think I've ever seen trains come into a station as fast as they would have on SOB. It is a little dissapointing that they cannot run all three trains, it would help effeciency (maybe not, at least I'd think they could get a few more people through per hour, but I could be totally wrong.)

I think I saw part of the third train last weekend... And it was gutted. All the padding and seat stuff was gone. I saw it over the summer and it was in good working order, and had obvious signs that it had been used.
