BeastlyDude
Not really a *scary* moment for me, more of a *shiver* moment: One summer (forget which now) I rode the King Cobra like 20 times in a row. There was no line and we could get off and get back on. (It was a weekday) Anyway, about an hour later we heard a loud noise, and go over to see that the Cobra was stuck in the helix. We later found out that one of the wheels came off and it ground into the helix to stop. No one was seriously injured, though. But it made me think twice about the King Cobra, even though I *LOVE* that ride and miss it. i dont believe you Whatever....you must be a kid. I was about 15-16 years old so it would have been 1985-1986. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/archiv...dex.php/t-19130 While not the definitive answer, check out the link above. BeastlyDude
Here's the official story, btw... http://www.enquirer.com/editions/1999/08/2...and_taking.html
fryler87
I (thankfully) do not have any scary moments to share. (Knock on wood...) I've never been in any type of amusement park ride-problem or accident...but the thing that scares me most of all is that it can happen at ANY TIME. Altough rides are designed to be as safe as possible, we sure as hell don't live in a perfect world where everyone dies simply of old age. If I ever am involved in a ride accident or the such, I sure hope to live to tell about it!!!
bwware
Good find on that Enquirer story Beastlydude. I remember that happening and I was going to back you up on it. No longer need to!
teenageninja
I got stuck on recaR one time in the brake tunnel. I was in there for about 2 hours and it was burning up. Nothing will compare to the time I was stuck on the top of Drop Zone for a couple of hours. They didn't even warn us when they'd drop us. It was the scarriest thing I've ever been through lol. WOW That would suck majorly. How long exactly were you up there? That would be a pretty good place to get stuck tho, you have a really nice view of the park from all the way up there! Haha....the only bad part would be the surprise fall of 300 feet..haha...but i guess they figured that you had waited that long, you might as well get your ride out of it!! Haha.. Her is a question to all who have worked on Drop Zone, Is there anyway of brining the ride down from the top without the sudden drop? CYoung2003
Yes, they can slowly lower you down from the top but sometimes they have to drop you. Just depends on what the problem is.
