I was hoping to attend opening day for the full hours that the park will be open. Does anyone have any suggestions as to when to get there in the morning (I don't know how early they will let people in the parking lot) to get a good parking spot and not to have to wait in long lines? I might try to get WindSeeker in early depending on how this goes. My season pass is already processed so I wouldnt have to do that. Just wondering if anyone who has done this in the past has any tips!

I do know many people who got there much earlier than me, although I wouldn't recommend it for those looking to avoid long lines. Why get there early and wait for a long time in a line at the metal detectors only to avoid long lines in the park?

^To do what we did last year... meet up with friends and enjoy each other's company a little longer! There's always a few people who I don't see as much during the offseason as I do some others. As long as I have a big cup of coffee (and you'll always see me with one as I walk up to the metal detectors every opening day), I'll be able to handle the early morning!

Gator - that's why I said "only" to avoid long lines in the park. As you point out, there are plenty of good reasons!

My thoughts exactly. My group was one of the first people at the gates last year and it was so much fun meeting up with everyone as they walked up to the detectors.

I work in admissions and am working both saturday and sunday. I know from previous seasons that the earliest they open the parking lot for gold pass members is around 8:30. I cannot recall when the parking lot other that actually opens. Sorry.

I am going to use the same method i used last year and get there earlier than usual, for me at least, line up at the metal detectors, and then it is the running of the bulls to Diam...err....Vortex. Or WindSeeker depending on what is open.
