Euclid Beast
For brief but real off-ride footage of the Screamin' Dem-n, get this video: Vincent Price - America Screams (VHS)[/url] This 1987 video also contains extensive discussions with Arrow employees other than Ron Toomer, and footage of working prototypes of a new type of coaster (suspended) that soon may be built... FOF
Ok... here's the trivia answers for the differences between Sea Dragon and Beastie if anyone cares... -Sea Dragon has flanged wheels - the wheels fit "around" a metal rail, eliminating the need for internal side wheels... Beastie has flanged wheels, heres a pic off a website Beaste Flanged wheels
Scooby_Doo
Don't you wish that Action Zone would have been built back where FoF was built, and that the Wild Animal Safari area still around... But didnt they Close the Animal Safari because a Dude got Attacked by a Lion?

MommaBeast
Skipper and Dolly!! Wow I had forgotten their names. Always wanted to get picked in that show, never did and my parents would never sit down close enough to get wet I miss the old enchanted voyage - before they ruined it with those god-awful Smurfs! There was a kiddie ride in HBland where you sat in little cars that whipped you around the ends of a small loop - what was the name of that? It's a wonder all us kids from that generation didn't get brain damage on that thing. Anyone else remember the canoe rides? Or when there were "real" indians that attacked the train? I miss the toy store on International Street that always had the hugest stuffed animal in the world in the window (back before everything in the park had to have a logo of some kind or another on it) How about that old theater that looked like a giant balloon - there was some type of kids show inside - I vaguely remember puppets...... For some reason, I never forgot Skipper and Dolly...and I was one of those kids who *NEVER* got picked, either....bummed to the max! Probably why I'm in therapy today. J/K! It's funny how I retained the names of the dolphins from years and years ago yet I 'lost' my car in a parking garage today. LOL Go figure... Oh well...... The Enchanted Voyage WAS THE BOMB! I can only remember tiny snippets from that particular era, but the EV stands out for sure. And I agree with you about the Smurfs....aaaarrrrrggggh! To each his own...some folks like the little blue things, I just ain't one of 'em! I also remember the interactive TRAIN adventures! Now those were fun...seems like it would be of little expense to PKI to bring that back to life. Why they've chosen not to after all these years remains a mystery. I love how each of us are bringing our own memories to this thread. Ala Martha, 'IT'S A GOOD THING!' Thanks to *EVERYONE* who's contributed to this thread! Please keep the memories alive.... Sparky AKA AZ Kinda Guy AKA Head PKIU Forum Moderator AKA Aaron is the one who drove Delirium last season (he's at Drop Zone this year). Gotcha! Thanks for the clarification....A-A-R-O-N-Who-Drives-PKIU.com!! 'Aarons' are pretty cool guys...my nephew's name is Aaron, too...not that that means anything to you, but.... I've met the other Aaron --the Delirium AARON-- and he is the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. I'll have to make a mental note that he is AZ Kinda Guy. And would I, by chance, find you operating a ride at PKI? Or just operating this wonderful, no-expenses-spared, complete-with-all-the-toots-and-whistles-a-forum- could-have website?? Whew! Aaron
Heh, I'll just be sticking to operating PKI Unlimited.com... that's enough of a job, plus, 2 hours is still a long haul if I was to work at PKI, and I don't think I'd want to be putting those miles on my car. And yes, Sparky AKA 'the other Aaron' is a great guy, and I'm lucky to have him part of the PKIU team.

What a great testament to Paramount Kings Island that so many 'outsiders' support their great park! Running (masterfully, I might add) a PKI website from Indianapolis that not only is top-notch, but boasts a pretty good membership base as well sure puts a feather in PKI's cap. I am impressed. And about those miles....I put a few hundred (over 1,000 I'm sure) on mine last year just going back and forth from Indy to PKI. You *DO* go to PKI to ride the rides and have fun, don't you? Maybe I'll bump into you there...or perhaps meandering somewhere in Downtown Indy. The Hard Rock Cafe sure was bouncing today---the weather was beautiful and people were out in droves.
