(A group of four kids directly behind me, obviously together, jumped from the normal line to the single rider line. I was happy when we beat them.) The first time I walked right on, but the next two times I had to wait a bit - there were several groups in that line that I suppose thought they could get on faster than waiting in the regular line. If there's anything more than a station wait, they will assign rows. If you go through the regular line, the op assigning rows may be willing to accommodate requests for a particular row when reasonably possible, but there are no guarantees.
