TopThrillDragster
This is very sad to here it happened before the park opened I guess she was on or near the track when she wasnt allowed to be. She died at the hospital. God Bless her.
Airguy06
I was watching a news clip and saw where she was hit. The tracked looked like it was just sititng on the ground. In fact, the ground was a parking lot! What is up with that? They cant put a coaster on like, grass or something? It is a real tragedy that she died, Although, what was she doing down there? Tanner
They have no room to put the coaster in the grass. As tragic as this even may be, this is a PKI forum. This will probably be closed.
DegenRider
Actually they have oodles of room but SF likes to do floorless coasters in parking lots. Some news from the west coast say it may have been sucide. Its tragic yes but from people that work there, there is no reason to be near the helix where she was hit at. Some of the news agencys in LA showed the exact spot with the blood. She was dead LONG before the hosptal
0-120
That would be a graphic scene to watch.

Do you think your a moderator? You predict the closing of thread way to much...just post and give your thoughts....none of us need to hear how the thread is "off topic" and is going to be closed... This is a tradegy and not a good start to the 2004 amusement park season....This is why PKI employees need to empahize safety above all else... Tiny ps. Tanner dont get ****ed, just stop telling us how the threads are gonna get closed...it gets kinda annoying....

Yep, any rides associate at PKI or any park would tell you the same thing. We won't operate the ride unless EVERYTHING is safe. It's our job, and an issue that we can never take lightly. Condolences to the family. ~S~
PKI Homey
SOB rider, could you please post links to all of the floorless coasters that are on parking lots? I don't recall SF placing floorless coasters on parking lots other than MM.
crosscountry4891
SOB rider, could you please post links to all of the floorless coasters that are on parking lots? I don't recall SF placing floorless coasters on parking lots other than MM. Well you know, rcdb can be really helpful here... Scream! (Six Flags Magic Mountain) Medusa (Six Flags Marine Wolrd) That might not seem like a lot, but generally Six Flags puts TONS of roller coasters in their parking lots. And they like to take clones of roller coasters and just plop them down into any space they can find! But let's not get into that...
Tanner
If I recall, this is a PKI forum. I'm pretty sure you could go to Coasterbuzz, RollercoasterPro, or America Coasters Network would be happy to have you talk there. No I may not be a moderator, but I am on the staff of this website. Now if you wanna try and argue that this isn't a PKI board go ahead, but ya know I don't think that'll work.

Tanner
It was Scream, a B&M Floorless, their newest coaster I believe.
TopThrillDragster
Tanner relax its news about the amusement world and Kings Island is an amusement park if you have forgotten so its terrible news to hear and it deals with all of us who work at Pki and other parks. So please I dont care if you are on the staff or if you are just a poster keep your rude comments to your self please. I am not trying to start anything between you and me but you need to relax. Tanner
Rude?
TopThrillDragster
Yeah, nobody likes it when all you have to say about thier or thread is it will probably be closed. No offense but that is a little bit rude. I understand totally if the thread deserves to be closed than yeah I agree close it. But this thread has to do with amusement parks and Pki is one so it should not be closed.
stephenmayes
Somebody has their panties in a wad. Man cool off a bit....All I was inferring is that although yeah you do take pics for PKIU, it isnt your responsibility to come on here and tell people that this thread should be closed....Do your job and let the mods do theirs.... And I was never arguing that this is a PKI website....I never said anything of the sort so dont put words in my mouth..... Tiny
Tanner
No one has their panties in a wad. This is a PKI website, not a SFMM website. When people talk about CP here it gets closed. If you're talking about employess perhaps it should go in the employees forum.
TopThrillDragster
everybody calm down we all have one thing in common we all love Pki and lets not hate each other okay? Thanks TopThrillDragster

TopThrillDragster
alright i will study and study them till I understand how to post in the forums. I think there is a rule that is something like this... Staff do not be rude to the guest. So I will do my studyingand you should do yours. Thanks
Tanner
Sorry following the rules of the site and attempting to enforce them is not being rude.
DegenRider
OK NOW A MOD IS HERE! Tanner lay off. Its perfectly OK. Tanner you are breaking board rules by insiteing arugument. 4. Unacceptable Topics of Discussion. This rule has a wide range of posts that may be deemed unacceptable. If a PKIU Forum Moderator believes that a topic is unacceptable, the topic will be deleted. This also means we can deem it okay. If I didn't like it I would of closed it before I posted. PKIU has members from the west coast and a death in the amusement community is a bad thing for every park.
PKI Homey
My point was that it was stated that SF likes to put their floorless coasters on parking lots and you could only name two. That is very small. Now, if it was said that SF likes to put coasters, no specific type, on parking lots, then I could agree.
StXBomber
STOP THE FIGHTING! I went to SFMM last year, and Scream was by far my favorite ride not only in the park, but in all of the coasters I have ridden. Yes, the whole parking lot thing is an eye sore when looking at pics, but you don't really notice it when riding it, mainly because you are focused on the track racing under your feet. I am sad to hear about this news. It is an awful even whenever a ride op dies on the job for any reason. This is definatly not a topic to be arguing about. DeLorean Rider
Not that im puttin down six flags parks or anything but in all of the SF parks ive been to (SFMW, SFWA, SFKK, SFGA, SFA) ive noticed that it doesnt seem like they're as strict on safety as we are a Paramount parks. Ive many times had my restraint not checked while at these parks, their dont really have driver boxes, its just a control panel sitting in the station. At SFA on Mind Eraser, the person checking the restraints on the right was also the driver. They also on all rides do not have little safety areas like in between the entrance gates, they just kind of walk around in the ''danger zone'' as it would be at KI while the trains are going in and out of the station. Also on Two face/Flip Side, (Identical to face off) The driver had a little fenced in area with just a little latch that could be opened at any time where on Face/Off we have the automatic locking booths that cant be opened at anytime while the rides going. Just thought I might share that. -Nick-
TopThrillDragster
Thats crazy! I know if we leave a lap bar up even though nobody is riding we get in bigtime trouble!
PKI Homey
I read somewhere that it was stated that she was actually on the track. Why would that be? It's a sad day when something like this happens. Anyone know how many fatal accidents there have been this year?
AZ Kinda Guy
Also on Two face/Flip Side, (Identical to face off) The driver had a little fenced in area with just a little latch that could be opened at any time where on Face/Off we have the automatic locking booths that cant be opened at anytime while the rides going. TopThrillDragster
Thats a great Idea to have locking operator booths! Its just messed up to see Six Flags go downhill so fast.
