Don't like fast lane? Here's what to do:

I will start by saying that this post is somewhat satirical before everyone flames me. Mostly pointing out a flaw in the system (which I will actually be using on October 15th. Already bought my Fast Lane pass)

If you want Kings Island to get rid of Fast Lane, the answer is simple. Show them its flaws. Get 36 people to buy it. Next, have ALL of them line up for Backlot. Monopolize the WHOLE ride, all day. Yep, all three trains. All day long, thereby not letting even one other person ride. Surely, this would highlight a flaw in the system, and make them change or remove it. Just a thought.

Or it could backfire, and they'd place a limit on consecutive rides. Either way, something would happen.

Is anyone else twisted enough to think of things like this, or is it just me?

I'm sure that the folks who implemented Fast Lane are removed enough from the park's day-to-day operations that there wouldn't even be a blip on the radar if a group decided to do this. 36 people x $30 per person, the park has made over a thousand dollars, and I'm sure that would count for more than they'd like to acknowledge, and would probably trump a low-capacity ride being "overthrown" for a period of time.

Also, every "Fast Lane" type system I've encountered always notes that the pass does not guarantee immediate access or priority boarding, but only that you will wait in a different line that, for all intents and purposes, should be shorter than the regular line. If that same fine print is involved in Kings Island's system (which it should be, but considering how haphazard it's felt since its late implementation...), then it's not as though the ride operators have no choice and must ignore the "regular" guests until the Fast Lane ones are through. In every system I've seen, a few of each queue line are put on each time, sometimes 50/50, sometimes 25/75, sometimes 75/25.

You know that ride operators limit the amount of Fast Lane on each train/cycle, preventing the (completely illogical) event you suggested from ever occurring.

But hey, go for it. You'll waste your day riding Backlot Stunt Coaster and make the park over $1000 from those 36 Fast Lane passes sold.

This was a hypothetical. I will not waste my day riding backlot, I'll actually be wasting my day marathoning Firehawk and Delirium, two of my favorites that always have long lines (on weekends). Of course, whenever possible, I go to the park on Mondays and Thursdays. On those days, I just scoff at people who bought Fast Lane. It is rather pointless on days like that (but hey, if it makes KI tons of money without increasing waits too much, so be it).

Also if it's worth anything at all, Fast Lane has no effects on my favorite ride, and unfortunately, my typical 8-ride marathon just before close on Vortex may not be possible. Oh well, I rode it plenty this summer, just not in July lol.

*I should clarify, when I said "I will be using it," I don't mean this "flaw" I mean Fast Lane in general.

I did Fastlane once and i loved it. I had the extra money, and i was at the park anyway due to me needing to do some stuff with H.R. for the Haunt. I would only do Fastlane if i have the extra money. The day i did it was the day the park was super packed. So it was worth it.

Haunt on the 15th will be my first trip since mid-august, and my last of the season. Furthermore, for my last two trips in august, I was with guests who are afraid of coasters. And so, I bought two Fast Lane tickets so that my girlfriend and I can make up for lost time and ride some of our favorites over and over. I have only gotten one ride on Vortex since its reopening, and I intend to use the time saved by using Fast Lane on other rides to ride it a few times.

You're running off the misconception that you get to be next to ride. That's not necessarily true. If you have a group of 36 that all want to ride the same ride, they'll break them up into groups and stagger them. You do get to "skip the line' but you don't necessarily get to ride on the train that's sitting in the station.
