Just want to let the KIC peeps know that Coastermaina will be on Friday the 13th 2012 and its a ONE DAY event next year. I decided to Close out Cedar Point this year and Bryan Edwards informed us last night at park close to mark our Calendars next year for Friday the 13th!! I know many KIcers go to this event so it should be a blast!!

A month would be nice.

Why do I suspect the days of scheduling against Holiday World (or vice versa) are over?

Or is this a sign of things to come under new leadership?

It may have to do with the fact that ACE Spring Con will be at the Point in late May next year. The park held Mania in September of 2004 when ACE Coaster Con was the park that June.

I'm going to lean more towards it dealing with the ACE Spring Conference, which is May 18-20th at Cedar Point, two weeks before the usual weekend. I had heard previously that because of the spring conference that coastermania could fall back into fall, but i guess they decided on a date in July by what pkiboy has said

Wasn't it said somewhere that there would be a major announcement at this year's CoasterMania? Or is my brain making stuff up again?

The former CEO said that there would be an announcement at Coastermania. However, his idea of a major announcement may or may not be the same as yours or mine.

I think we can assume that it will be about the (Alleged) B&M Wing Rider next year.

The scedule appears to make an announcement unlikley durring coastermania.

Is it meant to be a surprise? Lunchtime maybe??

Looking at the schedule, the only place an announcement could be made that I see is lunchtime.

Or perhaps during one of the backstage tours?
