Gordon Bombay
My girlfriend's father was kind enough to let me borrow these images he shot at the park in August of 1974. They were still in their original processing package, negatives and all. I'm thinking about going to the park this summer and shooting the same angles to show what the park looks like now. Kings Island is still world class, but there's something about this time in the park's history that really screams... I don't know how to describe it. I just don't get the same feeling from these photos when I visit. Not that I was alive in 1974 or anything, but the park just seemed so much more different. Standbyme has been posting some excellent brouchure's and it seems the attitude was different back then. Kings Island was a "resort" destination. Anyways, to check out the rest of the photos, head to my website: http://queencitydiscovery.blogspot.com/2012/02/kings-island-august-1974.html

standbyme
Thank you...and your girlfriend's father for sharing these! I can't get enough of the early park shots...and there are some good ones in this batch. (I especially like the skyride one.)
