malem
Paramount Parks had an interest in GWL Mason. It was sold to Great Wolf Resorts by Cedar Fair.
shark6495
Different management, different attitude, different money environment. If it's in the best interest for KI to add a hotel to its portfolio then GWL would be a good addition. If it's not a goal for the portfolio...
KIfan73
I've always thought it would be neat, if Kings Island had its own hotel again, to build a coaster that you would get on just outside of the hotel, and you could ride it into the park. Have two stations - like the train - one at the hotel, one in the park. Imagine not having to walk, or drive to the park, just "thrill ride" your way into it! What a perk that would be for staying in the hotel.
shark6495
My first thought was: wow that's a really cool idea My second more adult thought was: man that would be a logistics nightmare about making sure everyone had tickets and got their hands stamped for reentry, would that be 1 coaster or two....
KIfan73
I've even thought of that. If the hotel was close enough, say like GWL, the hotel would essentially be part of the park. Admission to the hotel would require/include park admission. Of course, the challenge there would be to secure the hotel property like the rest of the park. Perimeter fence? You would have to go through KI's parking tolls to get to the hotel.
NoChickens
If the hotel was part of the park, great for hotel guests. But what about park guests? A coaster only hotel guest could ride would be a very large investment for limited rider ship. Now a monorail, lol.
