jzarley Posted April 7, 2012 Share Posted April 7, 2012 I had the original set as as a child as well (but had completely forgot about them until seeing this post). I'm thinking mine dated to the mid-to-late 1970s, and I'm pretty sure they were bought at one of the Int'l Street gift shops. The View Master was a cool toy...I had view reels from lots of places I had never been, but the images made you almost feel like you had visited. jandyb79 Posted April 7, 2012 Share Posted April 7, 2012 I have two sets of these - one dating around 73 or 74 and the other dating sometime in the late 70's. I began looking for mine around the same time ebay had just started up, so it took well over 6 months to locate a set. I just finished uploading that set to Flickr today so if anyone wants to take a look at what was on the reels, here's the link... http://www.flickr.com/photos/79794681@N02/ From searching the web I've found the original Kings Island View Master set came out in 1973 with at least some different pics than those at the link above. Also in 1975 there was the release of "Lion Country Safari" by View Master. I have several sets, some still packaged, and these have similar images seen in the view master reels.
