My brother has that set from when they were originally sold. I do believe they were sold in a gift shop on International. He's collected them from when he was like.. eight?

I had the original set as as a child as well (but had completely forgot about them until seeing this post). I'm thinking mine dated to the mid-to-late 1970s, and I'm pretty sure they were bought at one of the Int'l Street gift shops.

The View Master was a cool toy...I had view reels from lots of places I had never been, but the images made you almost feel like you had visited. Granted, you can now just Google images to see anything/anyplace you want, but the experience was different with a View Master...

Got them! Now I need a ViewMaster, lol...

I may have an extra view master. I will find out soon. It's a new school one. I believe it's a spongebob one. If I can find it you can have it. just pay for me to mail it to you.

I have two sets of these - one dating around 73 or 74 and the other dating sometime in the late 70's. I began looking for mine around the same time ebay had just started up, so it took well over 6 months to locate a set. I had great luck with the view master wall projector for viewing these.

I love the View Master travel reels and have the one they put out for Kings Island in 1977. I just finished uploading that set to Flickr today so if anyone wants to take a look at what was on the reels, here's the link...

From searching the web I've found the original Kings Island View Master set came out in 1973 with at least some different pics than those at the link above. Also in 1975 there was the release of "Lion Country Safari" by View Master. Wish I had those two also but man, they're kind of pricey when you can find them.

Thanks for posting those! They are some awesome views of Kings Island back in the day. I'm sure they look really great through a View Master!

As far back as I can remember (and that's a lot) I believe they were sold in the Emporium, along with the fuzzy bird Marionettes, "Goober and the Ghost Chasers" 'invisible dog' leashes, and 3" Chrome-plastic Eiffel Towers.

It's also worth noting that there are also souvenir slides that were sold at the park during this same period. I have several sets, some still packaged, and these have similar images seen in the view master reels. They do, however, afford other interesting images and angles per ride such as the Bavarian Beetle.
