Besides being hot it was a great day to visit! Crowds were low all day, never had more than a 30 min wait for any ride I went on. Diamond was just as fun as I remembered it! MY sister was terrified though lol. Worst ride of the day for me had to be Vortex. Very rough ride, far more so than I remembered. But other than that great day! My wife and I will be going to the park next Mon as well since we can get in free with our military id's.

Isnt it 6-1 thats the place to be on Vortex? If it is try that seat next time, big difference!

5-1, not 6-1. And yes, there is a BIG difference.

I'm wondering what's up with Vortex too, we were there on Sunday (may 20) and Vortex almost beat me to death, at the end it came to a dead stop, no slowing down just like to 0 with no warning, slammed my head back really hard against the seat... it use to be one of my favorites, but this time around it really was too rough! Wonder what's going on with it?!

It's true what they say about seat 5-1, riding there makes the ride truly enjoyable and fun. Anywhere else and you're better off punching yourself in the side of the head for three minutes.

I'm new to the site, but not new to Kings Island, what is seat 5-1? I'm not sure what that means. "LongLiveSmurfRide" that's when I was there too, and I agree... was always one of my favorites, we used to ride it, get right back in line and go again, but this time I felt like I'd been in a car wreck afterward!! It was awful! :(

OK I think this is right. 5 stands for the car that you are in. I beleive there are 2 rows per car. (If this is hard to understand then a car is every time there is a break in the train). The 2 stands for the row number in the car. So you should sit in the fifth car, in the first row, and you will see a big difference!

Please feel free to correct me if I have my facts wrong.

Vortex rough, I beg to differ. Is it glass smooth like today's B & M's and Intiamin steel coasters no, but it's an old school Arrow, and still one of the best Arrow Loopers around.

I'm ready to go back, although it's almost a 4 hour drive for us (eastern Kentucky) I hope to see WindSeeker up and running though, and I've never ridden Diamondback either, the wait times were always too long, plus I had my young kids with me this past visit and it was a little hard to get out of Planet Snoopy lol
