SonofBaconator
I decided to create a poll on what you guys think is your favorite scary and kid friendly attraction. If I missed any please let me know
HHauntFanatic
For adult attractions, I voted other. For me, it's a toss up between Lewisburg Haunted Cave and Chamber of Horrors in Middletown. The idea of using a cave for a haunted attraction is genius in and of itself. That element alone makes it scary. But the scenes and actors are top notch also and provide genuine scares throughout. It's definitely worth the drive up there to experience. It's one unique experience. Chamber of Horrors just doesn't get enough love around these parts, but I think it's one of the best around. It's definitely a hidden gem. The actors are some of the most intense that I've ever seen. They really get into their roles. They don't have the most high tech, expensive props and scenes around, but they make the best out of what they have. If you're into the high tech, expensive robotics and fancy props to scare you, this wouldn't be the place for you. But if your into a good old fashion haunted house experience, then I highly recommend this attraction. As far as kids attractions go, I answered other, only because based upon the way the poll is set up, I had to answer it, lol. I've never attended any of the kid attractions, so I wouldn't know the best ones around.
XGatorHead 8904
I got to experience Dent Schoolhouse for the first time ever last night, along with Mrs. Gator, kiruler102 and former posters StalkerChick, Tassels and Tom76257. The attention to detail in the schoolhouse was VERY impressive. Lots of great animatronics, including a couple that I wish we had in Slaughter House, as they would fit perfectly there. However, I did not get any scares from the house. Usually when I walk through a house I'll get a startle or two, but not here. There were not nearly as many actors as I thought there would be, and I'm guessing this is probably because it was a Thursday night and staffing levels may have been hurt because of it being a school/work night. The actors who were there did a great job though, and were really into their characters. I think if there had been more people working it, I probably would have gotten that startle I was waiting and hoping for. I'd love to go through it again on a Friday or Saturday, but that's kind of hard with my current slaughtering schedule. Some things seemed kind of random and didn't fit the backstory of the house. The ground floor and first part of the basement fit in with the story of Charlie the janitor, but I don't see how the clowns fit in. Also some of the larger animatronics, while quite impressive, don't fit in with the story either. But the roles of the actors (minus the clowns) fit in nicely with the overall theme. One more thing... Hearing the roar of the chainsaw there really made Sam miss playing with one like he did last year.
RingMaster
If you mean the clowns in the schoolhouse itself (before the bus finale), it's meant to resemble a PTA carnival seen at most schools. It's tied into the overall arc of the Schoolhouse storyline by way of the faculty trying to keeps kids' minds off the string of disappearances from the school. If you mean the clowns in Detention Hall, that's a whole different entity, separate from Dent's storyline. It's pretty much Death Row at it's prime but with clowns.
XGatorHead 8904
Yes, I meant the clowns in the house. Thanks for the clarification, that makes sense!
