I have been on the fence on going to KI on opening day or to do the Louisville half with some running friends. I see them all the time and besides I have another half marathon schduled for the next weekend that I don't want to miss. I think this would be a great event to do on openong day especially if there are others who would like to do it together. These type of runs are for fun and the more that do it together the funner it is. So who all is in.

I'm really excited about this, and hope it works out that I can do it. I've ran many 5ks, and can't wait to run one through Kings Island. For those worried about their clothes, you get a shirt on race day. Not worried about my shoes, either, I run in these...https://www.lunasandals.com

Are those the same shoes that were on Sharktank a few weeks ago?

Once my wife learned it was like the color run and I had off work she wanted to do it.

I have done one 5k in my life. That was my freshman year at Eastern Kentucky. They have a 5k every year at homecoming, and I had a professor offer extra credit if we participated in the race. I did not plan on doing it, until I woke up earlier than earlier that normal that day and was bored. That was a mistake.

May I suggest the Couch-to-5K Running Plan this time? ;)

Route has been posted: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/Color%20Me%20Pink%205K%20Route(1).pdf

Beginning is a little dull, but overall looks like a great route including a run under Diamondback. Cool ending with a splash in the wavepool (though I'm sure that it won't actually end right there, or that it will be full of water at the time). At least the parking lot section is at the start and not the end.
