The Interpreter
About SFNE. perhaps applicable to Six Flags overall and, to Cedar Point in particular at Cedar Fair: http://www.dailycampus.com/mobile/focus/park-evolves-to-new-trends-1.3026118 Interesting this is a campus publication. shark6495
nice article for a campus pub. Makes a bunch of sense. Could the roller coaster races of the past be the cause of the current status of many parks, thrill destinations but not family parks. Interesting CF last year stated about families, but the newest ride at its flagship park is a thrill ride. Still early in the game, and I dont claim to know any future plans for CF or any park system, but I would think that parks will still try to add some family rides that can bring in more dollars. Grandparents dont, usually, buy season passes.
The Interpreter
And what is Mr. Hart's plan for Kentucky Kingdom? Who is that going to draw? As for Cedar Point: Paddlewheel Excursions? Disaster Transport? At Kings Island: Turnpike? Scooters? Terp, who likes to ask questions.
BB1
The same could be said for waterparks, it used to be where waterparks had at least one lazy miami, with one or so water jets and etc, now you can see a large move to a not so lazy river with so many jets and water mechanics to where you cannot relax, which from my whole life as a waterpark enthusiast, I took it as that a waterpark is to be a relaxing break from the park, while still bringing a thrill in slides and attractions, when now I see it as a place to where thrills and chills (quite literally) are in full reign and there is little place to relax in the water without water being splashed at you in various directions. Great find Terpy, it gave me some insight I didn't know of about the SFoNE
The Interpreter
Don't forget adding spitting elephants or dogs to the end of a relaxing flume, keeping Grandparents from joining on the ride if they don't want doused.

BB1
Tell me about Cedar Point's water park. Sure, it has an attraction called "Renegade River" with water features that aren't so lazy, which a bit more lazy of a river called "Main Stream" which still has a bit of splashing to it.
