Carowinds water main break

From Coaster Crew on Facebook: "A water main break has shut all water off at Carowinds. No soda, water, or toilets."

How do you operate an amusement park without any of those three items?

Maybe they should ask Holiday World, they went with no water, then a boil advisory and still managed to keep the park open AND still provide their signature free soft drinks.

If I remember right, a couple years ago at Holiday World, they had their water main break, thus shutting off all soda fountains.

How'd HW react?

They brought in cases upon cases of pop and water and kept their promise of free soft drinks!

Holiday World has a rather large water tower just across the street with their name on it (literally). Perhaps that played a part in their ability to operate?

Possible. But not for the soft drinks. They trucked in pallets of cans and bottles of pop.

If they were to have a huge main water break that would take most of the day to fix, unless the had a water tower to provide water for toilets, fire mains and drinking, it would seem the fire department would force them to close. Look at that cruise ship that had no electrical power to power the pumps for the toilets, and drinking water and see all the open sewage the passengers had to put up with. In the case of no water due to the main water main be down and no back up water tower, there would be no water for the fire hydrants and for the restrooms.
