Dieseltech20
Amusement Today is like what happened at the Nascar race Saturday night. It was really boring and very few people watched it? Sounds like it hasn't changed much since I stopped watching a few years ago.
BoddaH1994
Don tried to claim during the Q&A this evening that the Golden Tickets were voted on by people like us and had nothing to do with advertising money. No disrespect to Don, who probably has to say that to get the general public to believe the award, but I think that's a load of PR bull****. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain You never answered my question on Facebook. Have you ever even seen an issue of Amusement Today? Clearly the answer is no. Stupid Facebook never notified me of your response, even though you tagged me in the comment. No, I have not seen an issue of Amusement Today, but I still think the Golden Tickets are a joke. If they're not rigged by advertising dollars, then they're rigged in some other fashion. It's the only explanation for the same parks winning the same awards over and over and over.

Very few parks advertise in Amusement Today. It's a trade magazine, so you see more ride manufacturers and part manufacturers advertise in it. You'll sometimes see an ad like "On behalf on Dollywood Entertainment, thanks for the Golden Tickets!" but that's really only around Golden Ticket time. You can agree or disagree all you want, but it's the way people voted. I'm with you in some regards. Sometimes I think to myself, "Really...?" when I see the results, but it is what it is. Here is an FAQ about the Golden Tickets if you'd like more information.
RailRider
Back on the fact that KI won for Childrens area yet again is of no real surprise. Outside of the Magic Kingdom KI has one of the best collections of rides for little kids all the way up to those teetering on the 48' mark. The collection of rides and appeal of the area is why we continually buy our season pass now. This is why in my opinion more family directed rides are becoming the norm and not record breaking thrill machines.
thedevariouseffect
I still don't care for golden ticket awards... Even when working over at millie or with their crews when they got the golden ticket... We're the number one steel coaster, blah blah... K...I'll still head to Maverick first for ERT..
