funpark Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 ^ Prescription Ski goggles? Knott's won't allow them. I would never go to Knott's. I have safety glasses and I have to wear them at all times. I have vision in only one eye so I have to have that protection. If anything happened to the other eye I would be blind and I would never take that chance. I take my glasses off to sleep but not to ride a coaster. 8 Quote
kjkjkj Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Does anyone have any video from Friday October 11th they could post? Quote
AgentSoB Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I wish I could go over there but Action Zone is not my area. On a side note kjkjkj is was nice freaking out your sister when I came up and greeted here by name on Friday by the gate. 3 Quote
kjkjkj Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Haha! She was freaking out because she couldn't tell if she knew who you were! 1 Quote
emileeee Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Media day passes would be worth it. Too bad I'm so quiet and I hardly talk, let alone scream. Ah well. I wonder if there will be some other way to be a "first rider" on Banshee like they did with DB. Probably just getting there early on opening day, Quote
LoraX Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Does anyone know what the winners have had as far as decibels? I know I screamed last week - not my loudest scream to my daughters shame and embarrassment. I was at 127.7. I think the gal that won Friday night was at 140, but I may have heard incorrectly. Many of the men sound like they are in mating season. I am sure it's a great sound if you are a moose, but not if you are a man. 1 Quote
elyk Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 The loudest scream ever recorded was 128 decibels. I doubt that is true. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free Quote
jcgoble3 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Mine, I believe, was 129 point something. However, they are not using an actual decibel reader, but rather a microphone connected to a tablet, which is running an app that simulates a decibel reader (and isn't very good at it, hence the abnormally high numbers). 2 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Who cares if it's beautifully accurate...scream loud, high numbers, scream louder, higher numbers.. Sounds pretty simple Quote
jcgoble3 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Except that while waiting in line, I noticed very little correlation between scream volume and the alleged decibel reading. Something in the setup wasn't working, or they unknowingly ran into technical limitations. Either way, I saw some screams get higher "decibel readings" than others that my unaided ear could immediately tell were louder. They might as well have been drawing winners at random out of a hat, from what I saw. 1 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Ah well..let them have fun with it and do it..the screams that win are clearly winners by my account...the level of how much it hurts is enough to tell me if it's enough or not 1 Quote
