Bainard
My wife just found out she is going to be attending a work training in Charlotte the 14th-18th. If I can get off work I plan to go down with her and would like to hit Carowinds while we are down there. Hoping some of you fine folks can give me a bit of insight into the "must do" attractions for Scarowinds in case we only have limited time in the park. Figure the scariest part will be waiting to see if our platinum passes go all "Terpy" when we try to get in. Any insight is much appreciated!
jcgoble3
I've never been to Carowinds, so I can't help you there. However, I believe we determined earlier this year what happened to Terpy's pass. IIRC, we believe the admissions employee didn't give the computer enough time to connect to the servers at the park his pass was purchased from and scanned it a second time in an attempt to get the computer to "work". The system rejected the pass on the second scan because it had already been scanned the daily maximum of one time that day. So make sure they don't try to scan it a second time before the system connects and retrieves your pass information.
BoddaH1994
I'm not sure if they have the same policy at Carowinds, but don't forget that you can now scan more than once at KI... with the exception of Haunt, which has no reentry.
The Interpreter
And Scarowinds is Haunt...
jcgoble3
And Cedar Point still limits you to one scan per day.
The Interpreter
As does Kings Dominion, which actually has a sign at exit: NO RE-ENTRY WITHOUT HANDSTAMP SEASON PASSES NOT ACCEPTED FOR RE-ENTRY
BoddaH1994
And Scarowinds is Haunt...But does it have the same policy?
The Interpreter
It does as to no re-entry.
PKIVortex
I think all of the old Paramount Parks have the No Reentry policy! And I wonder if all parks will let you scan your pass for reentry next year? We know how they like to test some new stuff at KI!
upstop
Why does Cedar Fair allow this ridiculously variation of policy through out their chain? It sure makes it difficult for the visitor. For instance the entrance polices above, and glasses allowed on rollercoasters at one park and not the other. The hodge-podge of policy makes it look unorganized to me and I'm sure some stock holders would feel the same.

Those things you specifically mentioned should be standardized. Like Terpy, I will knott go to a park that does not allow me to wear glasses even with them secured. (That may be because said park is in California.)
The Interpreter
Nope. California's Great America, just to mention one park: - in California. - owned by Cedar Fair. - no such policy on glasses.

Bainard
Thanks for the input. Guess I should have been a bit more thorough in my question though. What are the must hit rides to go along with the must hit haunts?

I was referring to me going there at all. You interpreted too much.
The Interpreter
There's much, much more to California than Knott's, or even parks. At Carowinds, of course don't miss Kings Island's ole Eagles, the delightful Afterburn, Nighthawk, the mousey in Outer Hanks...

Thats one of the things I am most excited about honestly. So many childhood memories...
elyk
The Carowinds eagles are great! If timed right, you can actually skim across the canopy of the queue line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Must hit rides: Imtimidator Afterburn Nighthawk (expect nightmarishly long wait times for this one) And the eagles are called the Woodstock Gliders.
