Flight Deck is a very underrated night ride, as well as Adventure Express. Diamondback is also a very good night ride, and Vortex is good too. Everything is better at night, but in my opinion the best ones at night are The Beast, Flight Deck, Adventure Express, Backlot, and Diamondback.

I'll be there Saturday to. Due to great weather we decided to go ahead and buy Fast Lane and Fright Lane Passes last night! Told the wife this morning, I have to take some good pictures, so I can write a great trip report for everyone! LOL. So ready for 4pm to start head that way. We are staying in Blue Ash tonight, expecially to stop by Blue Ash Chili! One of our favorite resturants! Hit the park tom!

The main reason I decided to drive 8 hours for KI suddenly (It would make more sense to go next season, but maybe I'll be back next season as well!) is because I saw they are open until 1am, and I agree KI has a great lineup for night rides! Also, I can go to Stricker's Grove on Sunday. Never thought I'd get the chance to go there.

I went on Flight Deck years ago and loved it! Ready to try it at night.

Very cool! Where are you driving from?

I was hoping for cold weather but it seems like even if it is cold it could still be busy, so it might as well be great weather since I'm getting Fast Lane Plus anyways. I thought about getting Fright Lane but didn't. I hope I don't miss out too much! I'm mostly going for the coasters and 1 show, but I'd love to do everything.

I'm working today here in Atlanta, can't leave until 4pm. It's going to be a LONG drive!

I too am going to the park this Saturday, for the first time in 7+ years. First of all, I want to thank everyone for already answering questions that I was going to ask (how large of a crowd should I expect, can you buy fast passes after already entering the park, what is the re-entry policy, etc.). Instead of opening a new thread, I thought I would piggy-back off of this one and throw this question out there too: is it worth it to pay the extra $10 per ticket and get the tickets that include 1 meal and 1 snack? Does anyone know the limitations on this meal and snack? Like can I get a meal at the Reds themed restaurant, or do I have to settle for a slice of LaRosa's pizza or something like that as my "meal"? Additionally, what qualifies as a "snack"? My wife loves those thick cut fries that they sell near The Beast (I assume they still sell these....), so I was curious if that would count as a "snack" or a "meal", or either one.

Since I'm guessing most of you are season pass/gold pass members, you might not be in the know on this one, but I thought I'd ask anyway!

Edit: Forgot about a couple more questions:

1. Do they still have lockers that you can rent out for the day and if so, where are they located and how much do they cost? Since it's going to be in the upper 70's in the afternoon and drop down to the lower 60's/upper 50's by 9:00 or 10:00, it would be nice to bring warmer clothes and not have to drag them around when it's warmer out.

2. Do they still sell elephant ears on International Street?

I might be a bit late and you might miss this info but with the weather being nice and it being a 3 day weekend I wouldn't be shocked if after 7pm you would have to wait over 30 minutes for Beast even with a FL pass. The park will be absolutely packed. We waited last year at the same time with a FL pass for around 30 minutes for a night ride on Beast. It was nuts!

DB will probably have a 3 hour wait tomorrow night. My advice would be to hit low capacity rides (Invertigo, Drop Tower, Backlot Stunt Coaster) early.

No matter how long the lines are AE and Vortex will be about a 30 minute wait tops.

Check out Ed Alonzo's Magic Show.

Enjoy Fast Lane it will definitely be worth it tomorrow!

Here is the best tip if you can make it happen (not sure about your schedule especially with your long drive or if you have a CF pass) try to come in for the first couple of hours on Sunday and the park should be DEAD. Last year we walked on to every ride for the first 2 hours we were in the park after a near capacity crowd the day before.

The meal deal is only for certain items at certain stands. Those items will have a special icon next to them on the menu board designating them as a meal or as a snack. The Reds Grille does not offer anything that is part of the meal deal. The Rivertown Potato Works fries may or may not be included; I'm not sure. If you have questions about specific menu items, your best bet is to call the park at (513) 754-5700, or stop by Guest Services to the right of the turnstiles when you arrive.

Thanks for the response! I think we might go with 1 meal deal ticket and 1 normal, that way if it's a total bust we're only out 10 bucks instead of 20, haha. I will eat literally anything, but my wife is VERY dead-set on getting the potato wedges and a funnel cake while we're there! These are non-negotiable!

Sorry I can't help you with the meal deal ticket questions. There are lockers that you can rent for the day located just inside the front gate, but I'm not sure how much they are. They no longer sell elephant ears on International Street. A few years ago they turned my beloved Bakery into a Starbucks. (The Bakery was where I worked for my first job when I was 16). I loved those elephant ears!

YOU MUST SEE ED ALONZO'S SHOW DURING HAUNT!

It is hysterical!

I usually just get Fast Lane when I see that the park is going to be super busy.

I will wait to ride The Beast, it is worth it.

You can save money by just getting a regular Fast Lane, then going to Firehawk then Beast first thing right after opening. You will also want to ride The Beast at night!

I heard the show is great! I will be sure to see it! I'll probably have to get in line for it early I'm guessing.

I decided on Fast Lane Plus because it was only 15 dollars more.. 70... 85.. either one is expensive, I might as well go all out! I've been on The Beast at night yearssss ago and it is safe to say I'll spend most of the dark hours of my visit on it! I was also thinking Flight Deck might be cool at night... and Diamondback.. maybe Vortex?

The doors to Ed Alonzo open 15 minutes before the show, and I would get there 15 minutes prior to that to get a good seat.

If you've already visited, hope you enjoyed and look forward to your thoughts regarding it.

For me, I absolutely recommend Diamondback in Row 2, Beast in Row 1 at night (well worth the wait). Vortex and FD's first drop is amazing in 7-1 but 5-1 is the seat in which Ron Toomer designed the ride around. The first drop is so much more fun to me in 7-1 on both.

I saw the elephant ears in Rivertown but unfortunately we just ate at that time and didn't make our way back to that part of the park at any point where I was ready for a sweet snack! Too bad they don't still sell them on IS or I would have grabbed one on my way out of the park.

I wrote up a nice long TR last night but if you don't feel like reading it I would summarize my trip as follows: I had a blast, it was the busiest I have ever seen the park, the Fast Lane passes were worth every penny, the "Admission & Meal combo" was a good deal if you plan on spending the entire day in the park, the staff overall seems to be friendlier and more helpful (first time I have gone under Cedar Fair ownership) and I thought they did a great job with the Halloween theming.

As someone who went to the park at least 200 times from ages 6 through 19, I just thought it was the neatest thing to be able to stay in the park while it was dark for roughly SIX HOURS and have all the rides open. In the summer you only get about an hour or 2 of darkness, and when I went to Fear Fest WAY back in the day I think the only ride they had open was Son of Beast, and most of the haunted attractions were fairly lame. If you go to the park a lot and have never been to Halloween Haunt, I HIGHLY recommend it!

I'm perfectly content with riding the Banshee for the first time 2-5 years from now. After all, yesterday was my first ride on Firehawk and Diamondback, so if I was in no rush to ride those 2 rides, I think I'll be fine waiting for Banshee. And I don't even know what Gatekeeper is. Believe it or not, not everyone who posts on here is a hardcore coaster enthusiast! I joined mainly to get information for my park visit and share my experience with everyone.
