Commercial

Featured Replies

If anyone's seen the new commercial lately, (the one with the Free Parking: Zip, nadda, zilch, etc.) towards the end of the commercial, they show some of the rides. If you look after Runaway Reptar, they show an inverted coaster for a brief second, one that's definatly not at PKI. It looks like Top Gun at PGA or PCW. I've seen this coaster in other commercials before. Could this either be a fill-in or a hint of what's to come?

All parks do it. Six Flags is infamous for it. Don't get your hopes up. I bet PKD has commercials with rides from other parks in it as well.

If you dl the delerium video from pki's site its actually the giant frisbee from canada's wonderland not Delerium.

Paramount probably runs the same commercial for all of the parks. The probably shoot a few scenes from each park and then splice them together to make one commercial. Keeps marketing costs down. It's cheaper and quicker than making five different commercials tailored to each park. The general public would not be able to tell that the coaster shown (probably Top Gun at PGA or PCW) is not a coaster at PKI.

The commercial includes footage of Carowind's Runaway Reptar which was new this season. Carowind's "Top Gun" inverted coaster is near their Runaway Reptar, so that is what you saw.

The parks share "B-roll" footage and call upon each other when they have a need for certain ride footage etc. Obviously what happened was PKI Marketing called up Carowinds and asked if they had good footage of Reptar that they could use in a spot. Carowinds did, and shared it. It keeps PKI from having to unnecessarily pay to film their own. It also works out well because quite a few of the parks have identical rides such as Reptar.

Another example? Most Paramount Park commericals that show clips of the kids area feature Taxi Jam... well, the footage they use is of Carowind's version.

Bottom line, the Invert you see in the background belongs to another park, and is not a hint of the future at PKI.
