GamesAndRides Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 From a Facebook page I follow, An evacuation is underway on the Goliath Mega Coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. Train is stopped at a section block brakes. The TV channel FOX talking about a derailment without elaborating power now. Goliath is a Mega Coaster of mabufacturier Switzerland Giovanola built in 2000, 1371 meters (4500 ft), with a peak at 71 meters (235 ft) trains can reach speeds of 136 km / h (85 mph). More in a few minutes. 1
thedevariouseffect Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Is it a derailment or ghost train and ride setup... Interesting 1
jcgoble3 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm guessing the media is over-sensationalizing it and blowing it out of proportion. More than likely it's a typical, safe e-stop. 7
thedevariouseffect Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Agreed...see WindSeeker, StR , etc... 2
KI FANATIC 37 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Now I would consider the WindSeeker problem pretty serious. 4 hours is a long time to be stuck on a ride. Many things can go wrong, buts that off topic! 1
The Interpreter Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 No media reports on the web. Nothing on WTOP Newsradio. I vote for misunderstanding and\or exaggeration. 8
