February 19, 201412 yr Image for reference: (Taken from the webcam page on the Kings Island website) No, I think that is in fact the new wave pool. You can see the sand volleyball courts in the left-center of the picture, and you can also see the access road that runs in front of the Soak City Gate to the right. They do, however, need to fix the time zone on the timestamp at the top (as well as on the Diamondback camera). There's no reason for an amusement park in Ohio to be using UTC on their cameras; it's simply confusing.
February 20, 201412 yr Odd. This camera showed a close up view of Tidal Wave Bay just the other day... Wonder why they changed it?
February 20, 201412 yr ^^You don't like the conversion For EST to UTC it's just 5 (that's where them GMT -5 comes into place for EST) I barely use UTC/Zulu/etc whatever ya wanna call it..but it's not a hard conversion
February 20, 201412 yr It's not a hard conversion for me either; I deal with UTC timestamps on a daily basis editing Wikipedia and Wookieepedia, both of which operate on UTC because of their worldwide audience. The issue here is that 1) the average American probably doesn't have the conversion memorized, and 2) nowhere on the webcam does it even say what time zone the timestamp is in, so someone could look at the screenshot above and think that it was taken at 9:14 PM EST (which would make them ignorant of when the sun sets in February, but a more legitimate example can be had if you just substitute a screenshot from six hours earlier).
February 20, 201412 yr ^Is editing Wikipedia your job or just a hobby? Gemini XL-200, who, like many kids his age, use it for essays and projects and teachers don't seem to care if we do.
February 20, 201412 yr Just a hobby. I edit Wookieepedia (where I am an admin) far more than I do Wikipedia. Remember that the best way to use Wikipedia for school assignments is to mine the references list for sources from which you can write your paper. Don't use the Wikipedia article itself as a source. And if there isn't a list of sources or references, or if there are banners on the article calling attention to problems with the sources, then it's best to skip that article and look elsewhere for sources.
February 20, 201412 yr And this is not news. Even when I was a lad, encyclopaedias, of which WikiPedia is one, were not favored as sources for research and papers.
February 20, 201412 yr New for 2014! Mud Slide! Only place in the park where we grantee you will get muddy! And a high chance of a law suit towards the park...
