Return_of_Yogi
Here We go I've seen them all now. Karaoke 2003: I actually love this show. It's done well. Simple designs can really work wonders. I hope to see it on the post season. 8/10 VIBE: Mixed Feelings. I love some parts, the closer for one, is amazing when one girl sings it. But WOOOO HOOOO, it can have its bad times too. Much better on Showplace but they seem to be getting the hang of Bandstand too, I think DJ Scott should sing up there and show em how its done on the stand. 6/10 Pulse: OK, I am an eight year drummer and I am sadly displeased here. Very poorly done, But kudos to the performers for giving it their all.3/10 Young Country: Well its a bit of a re hash of last year, Without last years cast...... it doesn't seem right. but thats just me.4/10 Spellbound: Actually enjoyable. Im a sucker for magic though. Could be better but is really good for what it was made to be. 7/10 TR:SS: LOL. I never thought I would say that a man hitting concrete and a dirt bike would be the saving grace..........But it is. 2/10 Characters: Some of them are good, Really into Character and know thier stuff, others are not. but overall a real dissapointment from last year. 4/10 Nick Show: Same old slime but kids eat it up. .4/10 Well these are my opinions. Losing Streak
Honestly, Vibe on the Bandstand reminds me of some of the bad karaeoke performances I've witnessed. I give Vibe a 2/10, and Pulse a 0/10.
DragonLord
I agree! We have some pretty poor shows this year. I haven't heard any compliments from the TR stunt show either, at least not from employees who have seen it. The guests seem to like it though, at least better than our normal shows. The park really needs to beef up their shows for next year, bring in something that is new and exciting and has nothing to do with pop music or country music. When are they going to realize that if word gets out that we have great shows, people will spend all day in the park to wait for the show? Maybe we should have a long show, say an hour long? That's not too bad for most kids, but it would have to be a darn good show. Something cool for the kids like the Seasame Street gang does in the theaters would be cool. We have tons of Nick and HB characters to do something like that. Come on PKI, use your brain and come up with something better! We all know you can do it! mars1825
Well PKI can do it but they just don't want to pay the cash.
DragonLord
To make money you have to spend money. Bulid it and they will come. I'm sure there are other cheesy sayings that would fit into this...
italianchef
I did like last year's shows better. And I especially miss Graveyard Shift. That show was totally awesome and I wish that PKI would've had an encore presentation this season.
Return_of_Yogi
It's not the performers fault, it's what they are given to work with. I wish we could just break away from the cycle of pop and country.
Return_of_Yogi
Just to Verify Things. I DO work in entertainment, it may not be the good part of entertainment but it is. The park does it's best with the shows. It is by no means the performers fault.....some were given less than two weeks to prepare I believe. I enjoy theme park entertainment, and I give my honest opinion on the show itself. not the performers. I would like to see alot of changes in the way things are done. but so would lots of people. Crispy1979
Just curious... does everyone remember "Escapades" from the '92 season?

No I wasn't in Graveyard Shift - but my dancing abilities are good enough for me to be one of the Background dancers. And as for my singing - it is nothing less than horrible. SML828
Unfortunately I haven't been able to see any of the shows this year (so I can't comment on the quality)...but just remember that this is a transition year for the Entertainment Dept. It's the first year that everything was brought in-house...they were informed of this change at the very end of last season. I'm guessing that next year should/could be back up to a better quality! Just my two cents! Side Note: 'Retro: Repeat The Beat' is still my favorite show...Summer of '96 at Showplace (my first year ushering)....one thing that made it a good show is that it was a late afternoon/night show...they need to have stuff besides Karaoke & Country type shows at night...a real sit-down show again! We filled the theater many times that season - 1600+ people!

Just to Verify I don't think that anybody blames the performers per se. However, I'll point out the following: 1. A poorly written/produced show is poor no matter what. Even if you have a very talented cast...they won't be able to make a bad show good. 2. Sometimes a performer can be good at one genre, but inappropriate for another. Dolly Parton is an exception Country music singer. But would anyone take her serious as a soprano trying to hit high notes and breaking glass in Italian or German like Kathleen Battle or the late Maria Callis? Probably not. It's not the fault of the performer per se - but the performer's specialty may not match the kind of music or show he/she is appearing in. Hey, I'm a great Italian Chef - but I would be lost in a Thai cooking contest. Sincerely, Italian Chef PS - Next weekend I will actually fill in as an "assistant chef" at a Thai restaurant to film a cooking show for Kentucky public access TV. That will be quite an experience. italianchef
That Thai Restaurant would be? Siam Orchid in Alexandria, Kentucky. The food is great and cheap. The owner-chef and his wife are actually from Thailand and they are the nicest people you'll ever meet. That's why I agreed to appear on their TV show as an assistant chef instead of the star. Additionally, I am writing the entire script for the show and directing it too. However, I'm not the producer this time. StXBomber
I agree with the earlier comment and that it is not the performers fault. I can tell that the performers put alot of time into it, but the shows are just put together poorly.
