NBC/ABC Park Ownership And Morning TV-Today/GMA

Featured Replies

Interesting article, Terpy.

It's all the "Decoder Ring" from "A Christmas Story." Everybody's trying to sell something.

To be fair, Disney's Good Morning America did do a story in which Diamondback's announcement was mentioned (with the off-ride animation on the screen) in August of 2008.

They also did a piece on Banshee on GMA soon after it opened.

Nothing new since Disney and its likes were created, self promotion is key, the moose out front should have told you the park was closed. It hit a grandslam even in the original Wally World story in National lampoons vacation, just like the new movie with Christina Applegate is trying to recreate, we watch his movies, we buy his stuff.

Self Promotion is great except now the difference is NBC, and ABC, is news people also, or the down graded News.

Honestly, it's no different than ABC broadcasting the Disney Parade (free programming) l...

What IS different is this. When Disneyland was created, the hype and promotion were on The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) Television Network. Walt himself, the company, showcased on Sunday nights. ABC wasn't owned by Disney. And NBC's owner didn't own theme parks, Universal or otherwise.
