SeaWorld Entertainment selects new CEO: attractions veteran Joel Manby

Featured Replies

Manby is awesome and I love the way he led Herschend. He's got some major hurdles to overcome with this company, and I wish him all the best.

I do wonder why you would leave what he had for this mess of a company.

A good CEO, LOVES a challenge. I'm sure he has enough Millions saved up to take a gamble.

Until DieselTech posted, I was going to say "The Challenge". It would be nice to see some improvement in PR.

Harvard Business School

SVP, Saturn

CEO, Saab

CEO, HFE

among others...

One impressive background. I'm guessing that is one incentive-laced employment contract.

SeaWorld will survive and thrive again- it would have anyway, but stockholders wanted action and unfortunately heads had to roll. This move will serve to calm the 'waters' of what has been a rather volatile excursion for SEAS over the last 12-18 months.

i think I am ok with this. Does Dollywood still have that eagle exhibit? That was one of the things I liked most when I was there last.

Just glad it is no one currently associated with Cedar Fair or Six Flags *gag*
