Gold and Platinum Soak City Exclusive

Featured Replies

According to the calendar on Kings Island's app, there will be an exclusive night for season pass holders (I think we can assume that it's Gold and Platinum) on July 11th from 8:30p to 10:30p. It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds.

The events page on the desktop version of visitkingsisland.com has more details:

Exclusive night ride time for Gold and Platinum passholders on select attractions in Soak City Waterpark July 11, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Attractions open include Mondo Monsoon, Pipeline Paradise, Rendezvous Run, Splash Landing and Tidal Wave Bay. Gold and Platinum passholders can also enjoy $1 food specials during this event.

More than half of all Google Internet searches originate on mobile these days.

It seems to me mobile should default to a site where information is easy to accesso. No news flash there.

It's 2015. Darn it.

Nope...  Mobile pages are still very limited in their content.  It's rather frustrating, really.

One of the major benefits of the original iPhone was that you could view the web.  The whole web.

As smartphones have become more and more ubiquitous, mobile pages have evolved from those little plain-text pick-a-number things on a dumb phone to a prettier interface of basically the same thing.  Many apps are no better.

To this day, I often find myself needing to force the desktop site to get useful information.

Take, for instance, the profile page right here on KIC.  You only get really basic info on the mobile page compared to the full page.  Why?  *sigh*

I like that they're doing $1 food specials this time. Last year, it was free food, and hundreds of people showed up without swimsuits just to eat, and the result was that out of the two hours the event lasted, I spent 90 minutes in line for food and only got I think two slides in. I don't like complaining about free stuff, but they really dropped the ball on it last year.

Hopefully charging a small amount will keep some of those people away, and also hopefully the lines will be spread out between multiple locations allowing people to spend far less time in line.
