kifan24 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Can I bring and use (as long as I pay 99cents/refill) my Cedar Point cups to Kings Island? We are making a trip down for just a couple of days and it will be cheeper for us just to that instead of paying 10.99 for a couple of bottles? Quote
jbum123 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 We take our Kings Dominion and Carowinds all the time and they try to charge us for water so I would day you are fine. Quote
kifan24 Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 How about for pop? Should I be fine because I don't want to get there and find out I can't and have to pay the higher price at the park than online? Quote
malem Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 If the Cedar Point cup isn't accepted, you could buy a Kings Island cup at the online price using a mobile device. https://cf-ki.secure.accesso.com/packageList/keyword/Meals Keep in mind that souvenir cups aren't permitted in line at Banshee and Firehawk. They must be left in a locker (~$1/hr, $2 minimum charge) or with a non-rider. Quote
kifan24 Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Would I just show the voucher on my phone to them because I have always printed them out to give to them so there was no issues? Quote
TheCandyManCan Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Yeah as long as they get the barcode you're fine. I've done that this year already 1 Quote
malem Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 If you select "mobile" delivery when checking out from the mobile ticket store, you will receive a barcode on your phone to be scanned by the cashier. You might want to test this (without actually completing check-out) in advance. If scanning the barcode doesn't work, the cashier would enter the numeric code. 1 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Alternatively, if you have a Platinum Pass, you may be able to buy a souvenir cup at the park for the online price (I know this has been the case the last two years). Call the park to verify this, though. 1 Quote
acfinn Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 They don't even make you have a souvenir cup from this season. I've personally witnessed people using souvenir cups from prior years multiple times. I assumed that you had to buy a new one each year, which I guess that was incorrect? Quote
jsus Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 You're supposed to buy a new one every year. They even say on them that they are only good through December 31 of the year issued. That said, you're dealing with minimum wage front of house employees, many of whom haven't been employed before. They might have briefly been told what to look for with the cups, but honestly, I'm not sure they care to check. If the barcode scans, they fill it. That's about it. Quote
TheCandyManCan Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Even if they use the cup from last year they're still making instant profit. One drink for a dollar. It maybe costs then 5 cents 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Not including labor, fixed costs, etc. Food cost is a small part of the restaurant business, especially as to soda, fries and even coffee. 2 Quote
CPFoodBlog Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Yes, any 2015 Cedar Fair cup can be used for refills at another park. We have used multiple park cups this season at a bunch of other Cedar Fair parks. Some parks, like Kings Island, Cedar Point, and Carowinds allow you to reactivate the cup for $5 and get refills all day, or pay $0.99 per refill. Other parks like Worlds of Fun and Kings Dominion require you to pay $0.99 per refill. 2 Quote
acfinn Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I had no idea the 5 dollar thing was an option. Usually wouldn't be need for it for me as I usually am only at the park a few hours. But we will be pulling an all day trip one day next month. Thanks for the heads up! Quote
PGalati Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I ordered a Carowinds cup online in march sometime. We took our KI 2015 cup (Coasterstock) to Carowinds and used it during our half day visit for $.99 refills, then redeemed our Fury 325 cup the following full day at the park for free refills. The last day we drank nothing but water. 1 Quote
