kingsislandMOM Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Can I use the app, which I have added my gold passes to, to park or do I have to use the actual pass? I have my passes also in my apple wallet? 2 Quote
homestar92 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 You cannot. I tried this recently. The app uses a QR code, but the scanners are only compatible with the one-dimensional barcode that appears on the physical card. If you Apple Wallet has the traditional barcode, it MIGHT work, but I can't confirm. 2 Quote

Haven't had an issue with parking. 2 Quote
homestar92 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Interesting. I tried and tried to use my phone for parking and it just would not go. Maybe the phone screen is the issue, then, and not the QR code. I wonder if a Platinum Pass with the QR code works at smaller parks without FunPix, such as Worlds of Fun... 2 Quote
kingsislandMOM Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 Well I'm going today so I guess I'll try it and have the card handy if not! Thanks all!! 2 Quote
ohiocolts Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 The QR codes on phones are suppose to work at the tolls and main entrance, but will often times have difficulty scanning. If you want things to go more quickly, I'd recommend just using your physical pass. 5 Quote
chuck norris Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 The QR code from the official app (or from moving the pass into passbook on iOS won't work). You can take a picture of your pass and add it to something like key ring and that picture will work. Alternatively, when you pull up to a lane you can tap the screen and manually enter your pass number (which is displayed in the app) then hit submit and the gate will open. chuck norris Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Also, if the booth is staffed... The booth operator can use their scanner gun and it effectively scans the QR code from the app. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
diamonbackandbeastlover Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Try turning your screen brightness all the way up so it is easier for the scanner to scan it 3 Quote
MrSaturdayNite Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Mrs. Saturday Nite has had success using her phone for parking (with Apple Wallet, I believe). I have not. 2 Quote
