StXBomber Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 Eagles are not in this list because The OC does not run it. Scrambler and Dodgems are together because I ran out of room! If you choose Scrambler or Dodgems, say which one below. Quote
SOB/Gun Steve-O Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 What is this, everyone copying off of my poll now? I vote FoF. Quote
SixFlagsMasta Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 well i think it's obvious what's winning Quote
skatefanjeff Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 I voted for Vortex. It is a classic. It has everything you need in a coaster, nice big hill, six inveersions, and the twisted layout is great. Every park should have some shape or form of an arrow multi looper. The only rides in the park that beat good old Vortex are Beast and SOB. Quote
PKIguy14 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 I vote for FoF. It has a great theme, a powerful launch, and an intense layout all in the dark. Vortex comes in a close second though, and probably has the best capacity in the park. Quote
stephenmayes Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 Vortex. Big Hill, 6 inversions, good speed. And everyone can fit on it. If FOF had better designed seating then it might make a stab at #1. but they have no love for us 7 footers in the world. STeve Quote
derbeast Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 I'm the guy who voted for Tiques. And I was talking about Tiques South, every Old Coney Ride should be like Tiques South. Quote
AZ Kinda Guy Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 Don't have any shame in voting for Tiques. Every ride needs some love. Yes, even Biplanes. Quote
StXBomber Posted January 24, 2004 Author Posted January 24, 2004 Whoa... Sparky just went old school on us! I mean WAY old school! lol Quote
fryler87 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 (GAGS)...I almost couldn't decide between one of the sweetest flats ever (Shake, Rattle and Roll) and the world's first LIM launched coaster (Flight of Fear). Flight of Fear gives such a great ride...I'll admit that along with Steve, the lap bars aren't great for us taller people (even though I'm a mere 6' 2"). I oddly prefer the OTSRs because of their friendly-ness to the taller folk. Either way, Flight of Fear gives the most amazing coaster experience - plus, it's in the dark! I'm sure it'd be almost just as cool of a ride without the building's coverage, but it's definitely one of the best-themed coasters. I remember seeing a picture of Flight of Fear's spaghetti bowl with the interior lights on on the front page of the Go! section of the Dayton Daily many years ago (like 1996). Even being a nine year old then, I was still amazed how they could fit all that twisted track into a building that size. What a great ride...it made history, and good history at that! Quote
PKI Punk Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 If FoF still had the old restraints(over the shoulder) there is no way I would vote for it, but since the new restraints, it is a much better ride, and it recieves my vote. Quote
FSASBoxcarRace14 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 Vortex=needs to be retired or redone, but still in 2nd place recaR= easy 3rd Racer= classic, 4th FOF= to darn awesome for any competition, 1st PLACE! BEAST WOULD OWN ALL OF THEM! Quote
Beastfreak Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 (edited) Clearly Flight of Fear. Always gotta pick the rides that are on the 6 year plan... 6 years from opening until they work properly... Edited January 1, 1970 by beastfreak Quote

And everyone can fit on it. everyone maybe able to fit it on it, but for those of us who aren't 6 ft tall...The Vortex is one of the most painful experiences. The shoulder harnesses are awful, when your ears just happen to lie right between them. They need to change the harnesses to be lap belts, like SOB or FOF. Quote
fryler87 Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 That would be really nice if they changed the restrains to lap bars. The thing is, since Arrow is now a psudeo-part of S&S, wouldn't they have to come in to recreate new restraints? I think it would be more expensive to bring in another great comany like Premier or Vekoma to install new restraints, though I'm probably wrong. Either way, just try to imagine what Vortex would be like with more open cars and lap bars...it would be amazing!!! Either way, it's still a sweet ride. Quote
