Main Park vs. Water Park

Featured Replies

Water rides are fun, but I won't do slides, at least with my family around. For the past few years, I have done wipeout beach for a while, and it's fun, but I won't step foot in the kiddie pools. Not when I know what those kids do in them. I don't do wavepools either.

Don't you hate that feeling when you are about to get on a ride, and the person who got up had a wet butt, so your seat is wet?(not counting TRTR, Thornberrys, or CF.)

I choose main park...holla back!...I got nothing. tongue.gif

I loved the waterpark, but I would take the main park over it any day. I mean, yeah, it's nice to cool off with a few water slides but I would rather take a ride on The Beast and Delirium than having some rides on the water slides. I have yet to see BB so my opinion might be changed when it opens. The pics of Tazmanian Typhoon loook awesome....so that might blow me away and my opinion will completely change. Who knows? biggrin.gif

I may work in the waterpark, but I didn't start to work at PKI because of the waterslides, I started to work there because of the rides. The dry rides rock, but then I am not opposed to going to the waterpark to go down some slides, if the option was presented I would consider it.

i travel 5 hrs to get to PKI for the main park - don't do water rides

I think there is a place for all of them. It's good to have a well-rounded collection of rides/attractions - something for everyone.

My personal favorites are hard park rides, but I love a good flume ride now and then - those are almost always unique to each individual park.

Hey, in the heat of the day at like 1 or 2 when its like 90, there is nothing better than takin the train to the water park and hangin out till bout 5. Some of the stuff there tho is a little too over rated. Like Tazmanian Typhoon, yea, well it looks awesome but its really kinda dumb. My friend and I road Zanga in Holiday World, (same ride) and its not that great. You just go back and forth, nothing special, other than the look there is almost no point in the top of the funnel being there.

The top of the funnel is there because the manufacturer, Proslide Technology of Canda thought that it was necessary in case a raft went higher than halfway. Originally, when Holiday World announced Zonga, it was only going to be half of a circle, but then Proslide changed their mind and made it a complete circle/funnel to be on the safe side. I am quite excited to go to Boomerang Bay at least once this season. I haven`t been to the water park in a couple seasons, despite having a season pass since 1998. When it boils down to it, I would much rather have the original park then the water park. I think BB complements Kings Island well, and will hopefully keep people entertained and out of the main park in June and July.

As was said above, the new waterpark expansion should shorten lines in the main park during the day. I would usually stop by for a dip in the wave pool, or just stand under that fountain to cool off....then head back for more riding.

I'm just not much into slides anymore.

I'm not much on water slides, but I would ride some of them in the waterpark. I'm more of a main park type person but I love them both and I'm anxious to see what BB has in store this summer.

maybe he means like walking through and soaking up the atmosphere or something but we already know whats there and its just a matter of ridding it!

i come for both but i like the main park for rides and water park for the eye candy walkin round
