Glenwood Caverns Announces Defiance

Featured Replies

Introducing Defiance, a new Gerstlauer eurofighter going to Glenwood Caverns! This coaster will be, um…situated on a mountain!!!!!!

It has three inversions, them being an inverting top hat, a banana roll, and a zero g roll into the breaks. It will have a 102.3 degree drop and the rest of the ride is only the two inversions, making it super short. And yes, this is the record breaking Gerstlauer that was speculated to go to Cedar Point

This vid gives a better description. Thoughts?

It certainly seems like a good ride.  I wish they would have made it like their swing ride, where it swings out over the canyon, but cost implications prevented that.  Still looks to be a fun ride, and will draw in some people to check out the park.

It looks like a fun ride, just super short so a little disappointing on that front. When it was being teased as a new record breaking coaster was expecting more than this, especially when the only "record" seems to be one needing a qualifier with steepest drop (*but only in the Western US). Seems like a great start to a coaster but not a complete experience. Gerstlauer's are often shorter coasters but this one just seems extra short.
