Dollywood Offering a New Summer Pass

Take a page out of Cedar Point's playbook - let's take an already crowded park and offer a cheaper pass for the locals (granted CPs Gold pass wasn't marketed as for locals, but many locals that only went to CP got to drop from Platinum to Gold and then opened up the park to many that felt Gold was a cheap price point).

I didn't like this option at first.   But it does seem to be good 40 days that the silver pass isn't due to what I'm pretty sure is far more blackout days than before.   Really more a question of how much value getting there at the beginning of the season and fall and winter events are worth it to people.  Of course granted you live in the area where you can even buy it. 

EDIT I'm going to go ahead and correct myself,  I was looking at the blackout dates on the bring a friend tickets not for just the silver pass.
